This photo of Earth is EXTRA spectacular for a good reason... let me explain. Most images you see of Earth from space are the daylight side of the Earth, and it's obviously very bright (see my last image), this means stars are too dim to be seen with that bright exposure setting (low ISO, high shutter and / or stopped down aperture).
BUT this image taken by the Orion crew looks so incredible because you can see the sun is BEHIND the earth, meaning it's night time on the side of the earth facing the crew in this image.
So how do you expose a night time earth from space? Same way you do on Earth! A mixture of opening up the aperture (F4 in this case), cranking the ISO (51,200 here), and using a relatively long exposure (1/4 of a second). We can see the settings used by looking at the exif data from the camera. What this means is our camera is also sensitive enough to see stars in the background of Earth, leading to an extraordinary image!!! GREAT WORK!!! These are the kind of images I've been so excited to see!

On November 9, I complained on X about a @SizweHosmed staffer putting the phone down on me when I raised the almost 20% monthly membership fees hike. Despite making all the right noises on X & in DMs, I am yet to be contacted by anyone to follow up. Clearly they don't care #fail
@SizweHosmed Nice try, but I won't be silenced by being shepherded into a DM. I expect you to deal with my complaint with the urgency that is required.
Dear @SizweHosmed, I wish to complain about Noma in your authorisations dept. After I got the info I needed for a specialist visit, I also expressed dissatisfaction at your 20% monthly fee increase. She responded by hanging up on me. Appalling customer service. #fail

@SizweHosmed You have neatly sidestepped an almost 20% increase in premiums, the highest by any medical aid; the obscene payments to your CEO & board; & Sizwe's lack of transparency. I'd rather vote with my wallet & join a solvent medical aid that doesn't punish members for its incompetence.
Dear @SizweHosmed having run your medical so poorly that it has been placed under curatorship, how can you possibly justify an almost 20% increase in monthly premiums? As a member of 28 years' standing, I feel betrayed.
How can excessive CEO and board member costs be justified if the scheme had to be placed under curatorship due to poor management/performance? Failure to publicly disclose executive salaries for 2023 or 2024 is a huge red flag.

@Dischem Stop gaslighting your customers. I've complained about this previously. All I got was sorry, we'll look into it. But nothing's been done to fix the issue. It's highly disrespectful. If you expect customers to hang on & waste their time & airtime, introduce a free 0800 number.
