Ah! I'm so excited about this work w/ @LISC_Philly and so many of the community partners in #SouthwestPhilly. As we to seek to build equitable and engaging public spaces, our residents are critical and primary to the success of our city. Thank you @knightfdn for this investment!
Ellen, I’m so proud to serve our city and communities together. You are always an inspiration, and I’m so grateful for leaders like you paving the way.
Shout out to my brother @raymondsjohn! Over the years you’ve shown me what it means to work hard and how grueling but necessary it is choose passion and community over anything else. Thankful to be in #Philly with you and honored to be on the same list as you!!! @12plusphilly 🙌
Thank you @matthewkorfhage and Joe Lamberti from @USATODAY for capturing our story and mission in Kensington! Give the article a read to learn more about other leaders who are also championing the Vietnamese coffee movement 🤝 @Shift_Capital@12plusphilly
Hyun Jung Grant was one of the 8 people murdered on Tuesday. She was an Korean immigrant who worked at Gold Spa—a single mother of 2 sons. Her son Randy Park, age 23, said “She wasn’t just my mother. She was my friend.” https://t.co/vu7qpmEXBU
The shooter was a customer of 2 spas: “Gold Spa” & “Aromatherapy.” The murdered Korean women who worked there were ages 50-70. The shooter drove to “Young’s Asian Massage” where he killed 2 ethnically Chinese women workers & 2 White customers, where he had not been a customer.
The reported shootings of Asian American women on Tuesday in Atlanta is an unspeakable tragedy – for the families of the victims first and foremost, but also for the AAPI community — which has been reeling from high levels of racial discrimination. https://t.co/rBVPnrEBps
Today let us honor Korean American Day. My parents survived the Korean War and gave me a chance to be the first Korean American Democrat ever in Congress. They taught me to love and respect this nation. Millions of Korean Americans have contributed to this remarkable nation.

America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country.
The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not.
I will keep the faith that you have placed in me.
The model minority myth hides our reality: Most Asian Americans work in service jobs. Most are first-generation immigrants and many of them recent. And when we talk about Asian American college access, the Ivy League matters for a handful while community college matters for many.

The pandemic has exposed a terrible strain of anti-Asian sentiment all over the country. I worked with the @adcouncil and some wonderful subjects and crew members to shoot this piece remotely and raise awareness. Please share and help stop the spread of anti-Asian racism.
