We stopped by the Von Steuben parade on our way to the Ravenswood art walk today and WHY IN GODS NAME were children handing out little "blue lives matter" flags to other children like candy?? Super cringe and inappropriate 😬 #vonsteubenparade#blacklivesmatter@AldMattMartin
Covid is a vascular, neurotrophic illness that can wreck havoc on the immune system & lead to longterm disability, but somehow pointing this out means you're living in fear and need help for anxiety 🤷🏻♀️🤡
I'm tired of hearing "this kind of thing doesn't happen here" every time there is a mass shooting. It happens everywhere. And it will happen where you are if we keep traveling down this highway pretending there aren't exit ramps.
You sound insecure. As you should be.
Your attempt to seize bodily autonomy from millions of women & LGBT+ people is a stain on our country.
I don’t care how long you “worked” to seize control of people’s bodies. That right belongs to individuals, not you.
We will not comply.
@CPSCovid Collective apathy. A few weeks ago there was a NYT podcast where a reporter gave moral permission for folx to go ahead and fly on planes knowingly covid+ if "it was best for them"... ppl have truly stopped collectively caring for each other.
@maolesen Yeah and I just listened to a podcast from NY Times downplaying it and insinuating it's ethical to go out in the world normally covid + just like it's a cold or travel on a plane while sick with covid as long as they've weighed their pros and cons. Like wth. It's irresponsible.
People who are trying not to get Covid aren't "anxious" or "not moving on." We're looking at the facts and we're reasonably concerned.
Eliminating an opportunity for a 5% chance of developing serious heart, lung, or brain problems is worth a lot. 21/
Nothing feels more reassuring than- at a school with the highest covid cases in the city- being introduced to the lady working the Care Room as the one who calls when your child is sick... and she isn't wearing a mask in school. 😬😷
Just because we can unmask now doesn't mean we should. Masks are part of a layered protection strategy that can stop outbreaks that would impact whole communities. Follow the science. https://t.co/CibNH3uMBV
I worry that very soon wearing a mask will be seen as negativity/fear mongering & people will try to ban them. Folks want the ability to harm without feeling bad or being reminded of the harm. The responsibility of quieting that discomfort will fall on the people being cautious.
@CPSCovid@ChiPubSchools@Color Yes, we got this for both kids at two different schools. Side note: we've been booted off the testing list at least 3 times already this year without any apparent reason or communication about it and have had to take initiatives to make calls/ write emails to get back on.
