@cpaterso@emollick@mrdavidhoward What blows my mind is that it can take multimodal inputs (image of the task, markups on the image, live video, text, and audio) and simultaneously process all of it whilst responding appropriately to abstract concepts. Our 5 senses are so limited in comparison. 🤯
@cpaterso@sjtylr@JiahuiLuo_Jess@mrdavidhoward This is the main fear I had about so-called AI detectors whilst ppl were funding their development. We had lots of healthy, heated arguments back then!
@davecormier Good call. A one pager is my preference in creating written resources, too. It's an art to be able to simplify the complex and I can see you're skilled in that.
You know what the biggest problem with pushing all-things-AI is? Wrong direction.
I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes.
AI video generation is getting shockingly good.
In a couple of years, anyone will be able to create a movie from a smartphone- we're entering a whole new era of film.
Here are some of the best examples I've seen:
Director of Learning, @cpaterso, and Head of Digital Learning and Practice, David Howard, sat down with @teacherACER magazine to share the development of an exciting technological initiative this year: Wesmigo, our pre-engineered #AI chatbot tool!
I told a student last wk that the work they do in the class is for them, not for me. They said, “That kind of blows my mind.” We’ve taught S’s to 🙃learn for the teacher (& points, grades, credits, credentials) to the pt that it rarely occurs to them they cd learn for themselves
Wesmigo is a pre-engineered chatbot tool which has been specifically designed for use in schools, with age-appropriate prompts aimed at developing students’ skills and confidence using AI tools to achieve specific learning tasks. https://t.co/pq2c1U6KRx
People learn more about history from films than books. I have long thought that all students should learn how to produce historical films. While writing is still important, it needs to co-exist with the ‘non-text’ media of graphics, colour, lines, animation and sound.
I'm looking forward to talking about Cultures of Thinking in Action with @erika_lusky on Monday morning AEST😊Please join the discussion.👋Event Link: https://t.co/KzfNqfnzzS
