One thing Iโve noticed about many people from the Northeast, especially Kanuri and Fulani communities, is that they often have at least one name thatโs strongly rooted in their local naming tradition. Names like Bello, Sunusi, Bukar, Modu, Mal, Goni, Gana, and Kashim are still widely used and remain an important part of their identity. I genuinely admire how theyโve preserved that aspect of their culture.
In contrast, among many Hausa communities in the Northwest (hausaland), indigenous names seem to be less common than they once were. Traditional names such as Tanko, Mudi, Danladi, Mamman, and Sodangi are increasingly viewed as old fashioned, while names like Ahsan, Fadeel, Fareed, Afrah, and Abulkhairi have become much more common.

Abducted Fulani Man Speaks: "The Kidnappers Are Fulani from Chad, Not Nigerian Fulani"
A Fulani man who was kidnapped has narrated his experience, stating that the Fulani responsible for abductions are not Nigerian Fulani but mostly Fulani from Chad. According to him, Nigerian Fulani may let their cows graze on someone else's farm but do not engage in kidnapping.
His testimony adds a new perspective to the ongoing debate about the identity of the kidnappers terrorising communities across the country. The man has since been released.
@oumarou_rahim There's never been any religious succession among us, infact the Muslims have held so many high spiritual titles among us which even the other sect and even traditional worshippers sees as no p since we're all แปmแปluabi.
I came across what appeared to be a suspicious fuel-loading activity while refuelling at AA Rano on the outskirts of Kano. More than 100 jerrycans, each with a capacity of 50 litres, were being filled and loaded into this white vehicle.

Printing their own currency themselves could even have so many positive impact in their own security .
