@Wins_Williams If you watched the game, that blooper wasn’t all on Bae. More like a lack of communication for all involved. If anything, the infielder (Yorke) has priority if he’s going for the ball (which he was) until he hears an OF call him off…which neither Bae nor Frazier did.

Raking in AAA doesn’t translate to immediate success in bigs. Tale as old as baseball time. And yet, ppl think these are the solutions to the Buccos issues.

@rowdyburgh @Pirates247 Bae was actually hitting .355 with nearly a 1.000 OPS in 180+ AB’s. The gap in AAA pitching and the MLB is huge. Henry Davis right now in Indy is another example. That being said, still hoping they can both figure out in the bigs.

@AlexOnFifthAve The single you’re calling a defensive gaffe had an xBA of nearly .500. Bae’s range in CF is the only reason he was close to making that play. He then made a great catch on an even tougher ball hit by Merrill (tagged at 106.8 mph, .770 xBA) later in the game.

@Bwang_604 @Mikey5Aces @BobSmizik Bae had a slugging % of nearly .500 with 5 homers in only 183 AB in Indy. One of his homers was to dead center at 441 ft. That is far from little power. If you watched Indians games, he was spraying rockets all over the field.

@whaler2326 @NoahW_25 Even this year, you could tell learning the nuances of catcher at the MLB level day in and day out was daunting. Probably affected his hitting too and why he started so slow out the gates.

@whaler2326 @NoahW_25 It wasn’t so much the range; he has pretty good wheels. It was more he’d never played there before and was learning on the fly. We really shouldn’t be playing musical chairs with guys when they’ve never touched positions in their career prior.
