Why is it "sensible" that Man United only spent a fraction of what Man City spent on its midfield rebuild? I think its an absurd choice of wording by @PeteHall86.
Man United is England's biggest club who after being parasited by US corporate raiders has been unable to compete for trophies.
Take 5 minutes and check each of the below two graphs.
(1) Is it odd that Man City left United in the dust after Fergie left? It is a miracle that it did not happen earlier.
(2) Has the owners of Man United -- ever -- supported the club in a way that would have made it likely that the club would have made up sizeable ground on Man City? No, not even remotely.
Now people are telling us that it is "sensible" by the Glazers to keep parasiting the club. Okii.....
🚨🚨| Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who co-owns Manchester United, has spent £130m on a major new addition as he continues to invest heavily.

@petesunitedPOV So much jealousy. You are speaking so much rubbish sir. He has openly explained many times why he uses a different name. There's no evidence he's a Forrest fan but what's the problem if he is. This is one of the lamest posts I've ever seen. You are a numpty.
Was United limited by PSR during the summer window?
I have broken this down several times but I get that not everyone trust me (probably healthy). But @valuball (in cooperation with Kieran Maguire) has a fantastic review of how much each club can spend under the FFP rules. 👇
Valuball estimated that United could have spent app. £833m more this summer without breaching PSR and app. £427m more without breaching UEFA’s Squad Cost Rule.
Owners cannot hide behind blaming “FFP” rules any longer if they opt to be cheap. 🙌
@MrManUnitedd Can you imagine if we could somehow get enough Fans together on the Pitch & organise them in a formation that spelt 'Glineos Out' how effective that would be. That'd get TV coverage.
🚨🚨To all Manchester United fans
This is the reason we didn’t sign our main targets this summer:
The INEOS–Glazer deal (announced December 2023, completed February 2024) includes a Governance Agreement that restricts dividends.
What it says:
No dividends (or other distributions/return of capital) on Class B shares until 20 February 2027 (three years after closing).
Any dividend that is paid must be pro-rata across share classes, except that before Feb 2027 the company could theoretically pay a dividend on Class A shares only.
INEOS (as the “Minority Holder”) has consent rights over any Class B dividend during that three-year window.
This was a formal version of a pause that had already started informally. The last dividend was paid in June 2022 (£33.6m that year). The board stopped approving them in November 2022.
Why it matters:
Class B shares are the super-voting shares mostly held by the Glazers. The restriction stops them taking money out through those shares without INEOS agreement for three years. After February 2027 the restriction on Class B dividends drops away (unless the parties agree something new).
The Glazers are gearing up to start taking dividends again - all thanks to Jim Ratcliffe.
Manchester United need these things to happen to make our club great again.

This account will be repurposed to be a centerpoint of the fight against this ownership.
The greed has gone on too long and we need to band together and show strength if we are to have any hope of a change of ownership. Follow and retweet. #FullSaleOnly
@markgoldbridge Please Mark, consider this, don't go in too hard on Luke Shaw this season. He's at the end of his career & obviously isn't good enough but I worry he's gonna get soooo much abuse from fans because that's how they'll vent their frustration about our lack of quality at LB
I'm so confused & frustrated & none plussed at how bad the United Board is. How can they have turned all these players down throughout the transfer window. How can they been seen as competent. This is going to come back to bite them hard this season
@samuelluckhurst Oh my gosh Samuel, did you really write this ????? No one should get abuse on X or anywhere but you are really putting yourself out there saying this. Hold on tight, you might in for a bumpy ride after this.
