I heard some good news today.

It looks like the @NYCSanitation Commissioner is doing the right thing and delaying fines for residents not having the official NYC trash bin for the next three months, rather than the original June deadline (hearing the new deadline will be after Labor Day.) This will give New Yorkers the whole summer to be able to obtain the often-unavailable bins.

Hopefully, they figure things out by then.

The snow might be the main thing on everyone's minds right now, but when that melts, there's still plenty of infrastructure being neglected by @NYCWater that needs to be addressed.

That's why I met up with Andrew Ramos from @CBSNewYork on Friday evening, to highlight a broken water main that has been causing problems in Glendale for over a month. This is completely unacceptable, and the people of Glendale deserve better from DEP.

Hey @NYCWater - we've been asking you guys to fix this water main break at Myrtle Ave and Forest Park Drive in Glendale since Jan. 16. It's become a skating rink several times now, thanks to the freezing temperatures, and people are getting hurt. Can somebody explain why this has gone unrepaired for over a month? Because this is completely ridiculous

Very cool to meet up with @TheRockawayWave 's Scholars' Academy interns and a reporter from the school newspaper today during the FDNY Drone demonstration at the school (stay tuned for pictures from that!)

These kinds of programs for young journalists are so amazing, and they help build a strong pipeline for community news. In an era where so much of what we see is tinted with national-level sensationalism, building strong community journalists is more important than ever. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Adam, Alessandra, Amanda, and Enzo. Keep up the great work guys!!

Can somebody at @NYC_DOT please explain to me how this is even remotely acceptable? With the new parking lane, cars can't pull out of the way to let this ambulance pass.

When every second counts in an emergency, this could literally mean death for someone in a crisis. I have heard from so many people about how this Court Street redesign was a terrible idea, and this really seals the deal. Someone could be dead because of this.

Local Law 6 of 2025 - which I introduced, and was passed - mandates that local firehouses MUST be consulted before changes like this go into effect. Did the local firehouse sign off on this?

Before tonight's game we held a moment of silence in memoriam of Charlie Kirk.

Kirk founded the youth activist group “Turning Point USA” and had become a fixture on college campuses. Charlie Kirk, a husband and father of two children, was 31 years old.

The tragic loss of Charlie Kirk in Utah this afternoon should be a wakeup call for all Americans.

Political violence has no place in the United States. Because of inciteful fear mongering by radicals online and in the media two beautiful little children no longer have a father.

The absolute brainwashing of Americans, teaching us to simply label and hate, rather than engage and debate, must end today. The notion that those with political views different from your own are inherently evil should be considered laughably juvenile if it weren't so terrifyingly dangerous.

I pray for the Kirk family, and I pray for the people of this entire nation. Across the country, people need to wake up and learn to engage without name calling, debate without labeling, and actually make an effort to understand the other side. This is a tragedy, and I can only hope it initiates a much needed change in the rhetoric we see here.
