@hookskat Yup. They barely listen to anything I’ve said as they search their mind for the perfect rebuttal. I deal with this all the time with my own family. ~sigh
@Griffith8G@mattnightingale@KaneKp12 Nah, it just takes someone who is uncomfortable with same sex attraction to force their own modern interpretation on a text
@Griffith8G@mattnightingale@KaneKp12 If your letter was 2000 years old, written in an ancient language, from a different cultural perspective and translated countless times then yes, I would rely on someone else to explain it to me. Unless I was the professional scholar.
@Griffith8G@mattnightingale@KaneKp12 I have no reason to distrust the majority of professional scholars that have done extensive work to extract the proper context on this topic that brought me to my own conclusions. In the end, I guess it all comes down to a persons own bias and interpretation.
@Griffith8G@mattnightingale@KaneKp12 The question is, are you actually interested in the context of these verses? There are a plethora of scholars that can give you the proper context. None of these verses condemn loving and consensual same sex relationships.
