But even if you can't get the birth certificate changed, you could get a passport with the updated gender marker, right? It's not legal for DMVs to refuse the passport as proof in lieu of bc, right?

@bfhermann @piper4missouri Maybe not. But sometimes circumstances change over the course of a pregnancy. Regardless, I don't think it's a good idea for our society to allow people to starve or face the threat of starvation.

@MaxErect420 @ErinInTheMorn I feel like this would be really prone to error. Are you suggesting that they would go back and look at every person's driver's license photo and change the gender marker based on that? Surely they would mess up some cis people's licenses if they do that.
