@lavivianaleyva @1goodtern It floors me when people go so hard anti mask that they won't wear masks in situations where they previously would have. My husband is terminally ill and asks visitors to mask, for even a common cold. His friend won't mask and threw an actual tantrum in the hallway.

@gravybish Out of curiosity, is their lack of consideration related only to this category, or has it shown up elsewhere in your relationship?

I ask because the person who I am thinking of in my life has demonstrated a similar lack of care in other ways as well and it breaks my heart.

@andevers @Target It's extremely concerning that something so ridiculous (it's a totally normal bathing suit guys....) has gotten enough backing to make a major outlet pull products to not make waves. Every time the bad behavior is rewarded by corporations, the behavior is reinforced.

@lizduffy22 For someone who feels alienated for whatever reason, these conspiracies are instant community. Suddenly they are welcome and special. They feel smart, and knowledgeable. Their failures are explained by the government or big pharma. It's very comfortable.

@lizduffy22 Last year I spent time wandering the Canadian Convoy Occupation. What struck me was the feeling of community, and how strangers were made to feel welcome. Luckily I was sufficiently terrified by the transphobic and homophobic rhetoric on their signs to fall for any of it.. (1/2)

@lizduffy22 Vaccine hesitancy requires time with patients, relationship-building, and trust. It does NOT fit with the current model that is pushing doctors to see more patients faster and simply dispense drugs like vending machines.
(Granted, most doctors also hate this model.)

@FurnessColin I am definitely in the high trust in science, medium trust in government. I masked before it was mandated because the science made sense, and continue because it only makes more sense as time goes on.
