His greatest passion was his family and we encourage anyone who is able to contribute to the following GoFundMe page that has been set up to support his two daughters: https://t.co/lBxdoXnhoa
Jesse was a friend to many OSSTF educators and he will be greatly missed by all of us.
@bcssbucks @principalbcss What an impact Mr. Freier made on so many people! My husband graduated high school about 15 years ago and to this day, he remembers Mr. Freier. He has often told me that Mr. Freier saved his life and credits Mr. Freier for turning his life around. He is one of a kind. ❤️
It is with great sadness that we advise of the sudden passing of Hazel McCallion, former mayor and the City’s biggest champion. Our thoughts are with her entire family at this time.

@ColinDMello It's funny because even when schools were closed due to covid outbreaks, it was the EAs who were still working in person with vulnerable and high-needs students. Working in close contact, with substandard PPE, with students who couldn't mask.
My husband kept the kids in school.
The Ontario government recently gave 43 of their MPPs a $16,000 raise, bringing their salary to $132,500/year.
So why are they refusing to provide a decent wage to Ontario’s lowest paid education workers, who make $39,000/year & are just asking for a $3.25/hour raise to survive?
We will not allow our rights to be legislated away. They may have a majority in the legislature. We have a majority across the province. We will take a stand and do everything we can to defend workers' rights and to defend public education.
People should be livid about the Ford government using the notwithstanding clause. This allows a government to override the constitution - allowing them to do something that otherwise would be illegal.
The clause has been used 7 times outside of Quebec. 3 by Ford.

BREAKING: the Ford government will invoke the notwithstanding clause in order to impose a new contract on CUPE.
This is the 3rd time the government has used this measure.
#onpoli
While Doug Ford hoards billions, he tells the lowest paid education workers the cupboard is bare.
Now he’s willing to trample their rights with legislation rather than raise the wages of the people who support students and schools every day.
Ontario deserves better. #onpoli
