On this day last year, for the first time on record, temperatures in the UK exceeded 40°C

🌡️ 40.3°C was recorded at Coningsby

A marked contrast compared to today, with a forecast max temp of 19°C at Coningsby, whilst southern England could see 25°C

Today, 23rd April is a day of celebration in England, as it marks St George's Day.

St George is the patron saint of England and it is believed that he was a soldier in the Roman army who died a martyr's death for his faith in 303 AD.

Christianity is the largest religious group in the world, with an estimated 2.6 billion adherents globally 🌍✝️

Why do the clocks go forward in the UK?

Lots of people have different opinions about whether we should change our clocks like this. Some think having BST is a good thing because it saves energy, by making better use of natural daylight, and helps to reduce traffic accidents.
