@cmleider@rockthetaco have you watched "On My Block" on Netflix? Season 3 just came out. It is a teen drama featuring multilingual families. It is really touching and heartbreaking, but also hilarious.
If the purpose of the test is to gauge student learning based on what we're doing in schools, it feels horribly unfair that do so while nothing about school is going as planned. It would be a waste of time, energy, and resources that we should be allotting to other endeavors
How could this practice affect multilingual learners?
Is it possible to create an equitable process for admissions to exam schools? Is the existence of exam schools inherently reinforcing systems of oppression?
@cmleider@emrlyons *rolls eyes* i am stuck on the part about giving the speech in Korean. Yeah, he gave the speech in Korean (and English) because that's the language in his repertoire that allowed him to express the immense emotions he was feeling. Sigh.
