Anne Read: "of course I do not class myself as a terrorist. I accept that I am classed as one by a govt that supports terrorist regimes"
Trudi Warner: "One of the tricks that authoritarian govts play is to label opponents.. as terrorists"

🚨 @campbellclaret on Bloomberg with Jacob Rees-Mogg cuts through the noise:
A rejoin referendum likely won’t happen anytime soon because while Nigel Farage and Reform remain influential, the EU simply won’t have us back.
“While we’ve got the prospect of people like Jacob getting into bed with people like Nigel Farage… the EU’s not going to think about having us back.”
Brutal but accurate. Farage’s chaos is the biggest barrier to fixing Brexit.
Rees-Mogg admits the Leave campaign was chaotic, different people promised different things, no coherent plan, and the government implementing it (Theresa May, a Remainer) didn’t believe in it.
Classic Brexit: sold with lies, delivered with confusion.
Ten years on, the division Brexit created inside the Tory party helped birth Reform and now it’s blocking the very reset or rejoin that a growing majority of the public wants.
Brexit broke British politics. Fixing it means moving past the Farage era.
"If something arises in your life that hits you in your feels and you have to cry, let it out, it’s good for your mental health, it’s good for you, it doesn’t make you any less of a man."
Men's Mental Health matters.
Being part of a generation that was told “Wikipedia is not a source” makes it genuinely baffling to me that jobs are now telling people to just use ChatGPT for everything.
New footage obtained by B’Tselem uncovers the moments when the Abu Haikal family was shot. Seven-month-old Sam Abu Haikal was killed in the shooting, and both his parents were injured. The footage clearly shows that the Israeli soldier fired at the car as it was slowing to a stop. The car was far from the soldiers and posed no danger to them whatsoever.
Moments later, in another video obtained by B’Tselem, seven-month-old Sam’s father, Fahed, is seen just after his son was shot. Fahed is holding baby Sam in his arms, trying to stop the bleeding from his head with his hands, while Sam’s mother, Daniyah, who was also injured by the gunfire while holding her son, is seen sitting on the ground, next to the car.
Last Friday, 5 June, an Israeli soldier fired at a Palestinian family driving home from a family visit, as they sat in their car in the Tel Rumeidah neighborhood in Hebron. The family was shot as the car was slowing to a stop at the soldier’s command. Sam, a seven‑month‑old baby who was in his mother’s arms in the back seat, was struck in the head and pronounced dead shortly afterward. Sam’s parents were also injured by the gunfire; his mother is still in the hospital. After the shooting, the soldier who fired and another soldier who was with him left the scene without checking the car or offering any assistance to the critically wounded baby or to his mother.
In the past two and a half years, Israel has killed tens of thousands of children in Gaza and the West Bank. The immunity it gets from the international community has led to a reality where, under Israeli rule, Palestinian lives are entirely disposable – even a seven‑month‑old baby.
Is Starmer going to have a COBRA meeting?
Is he going to give thousands of pounds to the Sikh community to keep them safe from the mob?
Are Sikh leaders going to be given maximum air time across all MSM to talk about this?
As fucking if.

💢 Israel unleashes 110+ airstrikes across southern Lebanon and western Bekaa on eve of Eid
Airstrikes hit over 20 towns and villages in south Lebanon and the western Bekaa in just hours Tuesday, journalist Hala Jaber reported, alongside relentless artillery shelling.
Entire residential blocks were flattened, including in Bourj al-Shamali, the Palestinian refugee camp on the outskirts of Tyre in southern Lebanon, with a child pulled bloodied from the rubble.
💢 Israeli strikes kill at least 9 in Maarakeh and Haboush on eve of Eid holiday
In the latest in a day of relentless Israeli bombardment across southern and eastern Lebanon, initial reports indicate at least 5 people were killed in Maarakeh, a coastal town near Tyre in southern Lebanon, and 4 more in Haboush, near Nabatieh in the country’s south, on Tuesday night, according to journalist Hala Jaber.
Lebanese Civil Defence teams are still searching beneath collapsed buildings for others trapped under the rubble.
Jaber shared videos of paramedics trying to resuscitate a critically wounded child as entire homes around him were reduced to rubble. Rescue workers dug through shattered concrete in the dark.
Imagine this.
You’re Palestinian in the West Bank, standing outside your home in the night.
Waiting through the silence because you know Israeli settlers could come at any moment.
And when they come, they show no mercy.
Norway and the UK drilled the same North Sea.
🇳🇴Norway got $2 trillion.
🇬🇧The UK got tax cuts.
Same basin,Same era.... Completely different outcomes.
Norway captured $30 per barrel in government revenue. The UK captured $11.
That gap, compounded over 50 years of production, is the entire difference.
Norway's model was simple: tax heavily (78% marginal rate), take direct equity stakes in fields via the SDFI, own part of Equinor, and put everything surplus into a fund invested abroad.
The Government Pension Fund Global now holds over $2 trillion in assets.
That's $390,000 per Norwegian citizen about 1.5% of all listed equities on earth.
The fiscal rule: only spend the 3% annual real return. Never touch the principal.
The UK started producing earlier, at lower prices, with a lower tax rate (40%) and no saving mechanism.
North Sea revenues flowed straight into the general budget.
Economists estimate the UK missed out on roughly £400 billion compared to a Norwegian style regime.
The windfall largely financed tax cuts in the 1980s rather than a fund.
Where things stand in 2026?
Norway's petroleum sector will generate $63 bn in net cash flow this year alone feeding a fund already large enough to cover 10-15% of the national budget from returns alone.
The UK is a net energy importer.
Since 2021 it has paid countries like Norway more than £100 billion for gas.
One country treated oil as a finite resource to convert into permanent financial wealth.
The other treated it as income.
