Alaska - the choice is not binary on education. We can support, including funding, schools while also improving them. That is what our kids derserve. Latest op-ed: https://t.co/ctv0nGRZ1D

Appreciative of @AndrewGrayAK and @EastAncBookClub. Funding public schools is a quality-of-life issue as they are the heart of thriving and sustainable communities. Raise the BSA and return to a secure retirement for teachers, troopers, and firefighters. https://t.co/7SbCt3UlEN
Wild spaces such as Costa Rica are not only about biodiversity and health of the planet, they are about our mental health and our constant reflection on our place in the Earth system and our responsibility as stewards of sustainability. #rewildtheplanet#gtf2020@NatGeoEducation
Congrats to Dimond HS’s Catherine Walker!! She is Alaska's Teacher of the Year. Way to go! We surprised her in the gymnasium.😉Thanks Catherine for all that you do.⚡️🎉💙
So proud of my Dimond High students who were the drone flight team capturing footage for the Valdez Fly in and STOL competition this weekend! South High streamed the event live! Go ASD! @ASDschools@asdcte@AlaskaDEED
2023 #GTF@BioEngWalker continues to give @ASDschools@ASD_STEM students life changing experiences on how to make meaningful change in their communities. And she’s one of four finalists for the @AlaskaDEED 2024 Alaska State Teacher of the Year.
Dimond High @NOAA Ocean Guardian students collected 480 lbs of debris off beaches in Prince William Sound and Patrick Simpson of PKS Consulting is turning over 300 lbs into Grizzly Wood lumber! Thanks to Matson Caring for Alaska! #ASDschools https://t.co/fHkxqEspnS
This week @RomigRocks@ASDschools students picked up over 120 pounds of trash on campus and collected data using @ArcGISSurvey123. They will now be analyzing raw data and location and brainstorming ways to improve our campus. @ASD_STEM
We're excited to announce the 15th cohort of Grosvenor Teacher Fellows! These 50 educators will explore the world with us, from #Antarctica to the #Arctic & beyond. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will positively influence their students for years to come. @NatGeoEducation
What an amazing day at @RomigRocks@ASDschools with Model UN. Heard from @CNN Hero Teresa Grey of @MobileMedicsInt and @holageorge of the Anchorage Assembly. As Assemblyman Martinez said, “Block by block, we can change the world.” Starts with all of us, especially our youth.
& Arctic Policy. Jack was a passenger on the Endeavour in Antarctica. As we face Arctic challenges & opportunities, in the words of Petteri Vuorimäki, Finland Ambassador of Artic Affairs “We must be informed by science, inspired by arts and culture, and motivated by compassion."
And heard from Arctic experts and policymakers from other Arctic countries, listened to a great panel on the need for meaningful bipartisan climate action, and spoke with various Arctic stakeholders. @jackdurkee12 from @TheWilsonCenter also met with us to discuss think tanks 2/3
I am so happy for and proud of @BioEngWalker. She is the 2023 National Awardee for the @NSTA@Shell Science Teaching Award. This involves a written application, 30 minute video & full day in person visit. Always amazed at what she does for @ASDschools kids. @ASD_STEM#NSTA2023
