This evening, HRH The Duke of Sussex visited the Royal Gibraltar Regiment at the Convent alongside the Deputy Governor-General.

As Honorary Colonel, His Royal Highness had the privilege of inspecting the troops and meeting those who serve with pride and dedication.

The Governor-General has granted His Royal Highness, the Duke of Sussex, the honorary rank of Colonel of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment.

The Duke is the first Royal family member to receive the rank since King Edward. His appointment follows his visit to Gibraltar last week.

Following his departure, the Governor has appointed Acting Major unknownlzds as the next Commandant of the Regiment.

After 480 days of service, including over 200 days serving as the Commandant, LtCol RobertFelbourn has retired as the Commanding Officer of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment.

Following an audience with the Governor, he was given the honourary appointment as Colonel of the Regiment.

🗝️Last night, His Excellency officially appointed the role of Port Sergeant to Colour Sergeant dps_alt1.

The Port Sergeant is the ceremonial custodian of the Keys, and carries out a number of public symbolic functions, such as the Ceremony of the Keys.

💂This evening, members of the Regiment took up posts to form a guard of honour for the Governor at His Excellency's garden party, within the Convent.

This afternoon, RG partook in Operation Sea Lion: a multi-exercise operation with the aim to unite both the Regiment and @FIDF_RBLX.

Later in the evening, personnel spent time outside Convent Place, where they learned the procedures on mounting, in preparation for the upcoming Changing of the Guard.

RG is one of few regiments that have the capability to carry out dual roles: Ceremonial and Operational.

Over the past few days, the Regiment has resumed operations, picking up where we left off.

✈️Today, we saw select members of I Company travel to RAF Northolt for a joint event with No.2 Group RAF.

Personnel in attendance learned the basics to Air Freight Logistics, including how to load aircraft, among other procedures.

Last night, the Regiment hosted branches of the South African Defence Force to Devil's Tower Camp for a joint inspection.

In attendance were the Regiment's Commander-in-Chief and the Chief of the Defence Force for South Africa.

Today, the Regiment welcomed 4 new instructors to
the Regiment's Training Wing.

This evening, the Regimental Adjutant met with the Commanding Officer, and the Officer Commanding of Jamestown Company, of the newly commissioned Saint Helena Regiment.

The trio discussed future plans and cooperation possibilities between the regiments.

During the tour, His Royal Highness visited HMNB Gibraltar and followed Lieutenant Colonel R. Felbourn for a tour around the site.

The Regiment presented HRH the Duke of Cambridge with a Guard of Honour to welcome him to Gibraltar.

This evening, the Regiment, joined by members of the Falkland Islands Defence Force, were inspected by Their Excellencies, the Governor of Gibraltar and of the Falkland Islands.

🇬🇮🇫🇰 Today, Devil's Tower Camp hosted the Royal Gibraltar Regiment and the Falkland Islands Defence Force for a joint inspection.

Their Excellencies, the Governor of Gibraltar and the Governor of the Falkland Islands, inspected the ranks.

This evening, the Regiment traveled to Dartmoor to hone in their fieldcraft expertise.

On top of their ceremonial duties, the Royal Gibraltar Regiment constantly ensures their operational standards are up to par.
