See the components working in our amplifier: power inductors by @Coilcraft_Inc, gate-driver Si8275 by @siliconlabs and GaN-FET halfbridge transistors EPC2103 by @EPC_Corp. They're really working well together!
The modulator is integrated in an #ASIC designed by us.

Very good news before the weekend: our amplifier behaves like in the simulations.
The additional fan is not really needed. It is just for safety reasons.
#soundcheck is going to be done soon.
It is even more a pure sine compared to @ProfHennig tweet 😜
First validation of our #amplifier#PCB design. The on-board voltage regulators are operating as expected and no short-circuits are forcing the power supply into current limitation.
Just the #ASIC is missing. It is still going to be bonded...

Here are some #sneekpeaks of our self-designed #ASIC laying on a #wafer-prober.
It was delivered last week. So that we can assemble the chip to the class D amplifier PCB, it has to be bonded and packaged.
Crazy to see work results of half a year on 3mm x 3mm size.
Close to the final exams we finalized the class D amplifier PCB today. The #ASIC, located in the center left part, was delivered last week and is now on its way to be bonded and packaged.

Many thanks also to @siliconlabs for the free samples of the gate drivers #SI8284 and #SI8285. We can now easily analyze the switching behavior in combination with our #eGaN#transistors.
Also it’s important for us to see the impact of the IC’s packaging on #parasitics.
Big thanks to @Coilcraft_Inc for providing us free samples. This gives us the opportunity to find exactly the right chokes for our filter configuration. In the next step the coils are tested for their frequency behavior.
