This silence is enabling normalization.

I call on each of you: raise your voice. Stand for humanity. Stand for Afghan women’s rights. Stand for women’s and girls’ education. Stand against gender apartheid in Afghanistan.

Silence in the face of oppression is complicity. The women and girls of Afghanistan must not be abandoned.

Como médico, no me creo más que nadie. Y que yo reivindique mis derechos no significa que otros no puedan reivindicar los suyos. Esa confrontación la están creando ustedes, no nosotros.

Sabemos perfectamente que la sanidad funciona gracias a médicos, enfermeras, TCAE, técnicos, celadores, administrativos y muchos otros profesionales. Somos un equipo y nos necesitamos todos.

Lo que pedimos no son privilegios. No quiero operarte en la hora 22 de una guardia porque ya no estoy en las mejores condiciones para hacerlo. No quiero trabajar 70 horas a la semana. No quiero tener cinco minutos para atenderte en Atención Primaria, porque eres una persona, no un número.

Esto es lo que viven miles de médicos cada mes. Durante años nos dijeron que era normal, que la vocación consistía en sacrificar nuestro tiempo, nuestra vida y nuestra salud por los demás. Curioso: sacrificar la salud para cuidar la salud de otros.

Pero no es así. Para cuidarte bien, yo también tengo que estar bien. Y eso lo entiende cualquier persona. No pedimos más que nadie. Pedimos lo mismo: condiciones dignas para poder hacer bien nuestro trabajo y cuidar mejor a nuestros pacientes.

Y quizá conviene recordar algo más: hablar de un colectivo sin conocer su realidad rara vez ayuda. Como ocurre en la docencia, la justicia o el campo, (que están finas). Hay profesionales intentando mejorar condiciones que llevan años deteriorándose. No los convirtamos en culpables por intentar cambiar una situación que ya no es sostenible.

📣 Hemos intentado que las huelgas fueran intermitentes para perjudicar lo menos posible a los pacientes.

Pero seguimos sin conseguir que no te atienda un médico exhausto, que no te opere alguien tras 22 horas de trabajo o que dispongas del tiempo que mereces en consulta.

Si en septiembre llegamos a una huelga indefinida, será porque quienes pueden solucionar este conflicto han decidido NO hacerlo. La responsabilidad absoluta será de @Monica_Garcia_G .

Espero que la sociedad entienda que hacer una semana de huelga al mes es mucho dinero para las familias con médicos. Esta huelga no se hace por gusto.
