Resurfacing a 2,000-foot reflecting pool that has been sinking and leaking for a century is difficult. If this were an honest project that ran into honest problems, I’d say so.

But this was a rushed, no-bid job pushed through for a deadline. Now the coating is peeling, the water is green, and instead of accountability we’re hearing claims of knife attacks, chemical sabotage, and widespread arrests—with little evidence to back them up.

As a contractor and engineer, what I see looks far more like poor planning, inadequate surface preparation, trapped moisture, and unrealistic schedules than a grand conspiracy. Algae in a shallow, sunlit reflecting pool isn’t surprising. Peeling coatings on an old concrete structure rushed into service aren’t surprising either.

The real issue isn’t the algae—it’s the process. No-bid contracts. Compressed timelines. Finger-pointing when things go wrong.

On any project I’ve ever managed, if you take the credit when things go right, you take the responsibility when they don’t. Show the evidence—or accept that the simplest explanation may be the correct one.

Because he cut their budget to support a meaningle$$ war in Iran that the United States is spending over $29 billion on trying to recreate the same constraints the JCPOA (which he cancelled) already provided — except now there’s far more dangerous uranium unaccounted for, no inspectors on the ground, and a diplomatic environment that is infinitely harder to work with than it was in 2018.
