On this day in 1944, the USS Missouri (BB-63) is commissioned.

The 57,000-ton Iowa class battleship, nicknamed the "Mighty Mo," is armed with nine 16-inch guns capable of hurling nearly 25,000 lbs. of ordnance more than 24 miles.

The Missouri will see action in WWII, Korea and the 1991 Gulf War. The official Japanese surrender ceremony of Sept 2, 1945 will famously be signed on her deck in Tokyo Bay.

She will serve until 1992. Now a museum ship, you can visit her at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

A woman named Bonnie is out protesting the Kamloops residential school narrative. Masha calmly asks her the most basic question:
“How many children’s bodies were actually found in Kamloops?”
Bonnie’s answers say it all:
• “I don’t know…”
• “It’s none of my business…”
• “You’re getting distracted…”
This is exactly why “Truth and Reconciliation” has become a sick joke.
You cannot have reconciliation without truth first.
You don’t get to push a “genocide” narrative in the streets, demand everyone believe it, and then shrug “I don’t know and it’s not my business” when someone asks for evidence.
That’s not activism. That’s performative faith and emotional manipulation.
Masha asked the obvious. Bonnie’s inability to answer revealed everything.
Real reconciliation requires uncomfortable truths — not slogans, feelings, or evasion.

To Canada's leaders who keep calling for "national unity" (i.e. Pierre Poilievre)

Unity isn't something you demand. It's something you earn.

If you're serious about keeping Canada together, put your money where your mouth is. Address the concerns that millions of Albertans have been raising for decades:

• End equalization wealth redistribution
• Give Alberta fair representation in the House of Commons
• Reform the Senate and make it elected
• Respect provincial jurisdiction over health care, resources, and taxation
• Give provinces greater control over immigration

A stronger Canada is built on fairness, respect, and autonomy... not on expecting one region to simply accept the status quo.

Basic services that taxpayers expect are deteriorating while costs continue to rise, yet here you are.

They do not need municipal politicians using taxpayer-funded salaries and resources to campaign against democratic participation or insert themselves into matters they were never elected to control.

Let citizens have a say in their own future. That is what living in a free and democratic society means!
