1. This is not a private dock.
2. Where is their required 75’ wide waterfront property? Across the street doesn’t count.
3. Where is dock tied to high ground? Does the Beach Company own that high ground?
4. Does the proposed dock remain within extended property lines?
5. Problems
A permit submitted for a private dock along the Ashley River is stirring up opposition in Charleston, as some say it could strip away public access to downtown waterfront views. https://t.co/8Vf7aZPh8p
@TrenchTrotter In the old days, up to 1960 or so, in the American South, double hung windows had weights on ropes in the window frame tied to the bottom sash. When you opened the bottom sash, the weights came down & held the window open. We called them window bells. Looked like those.
@NoLayingUp@FDSportsbook Doubt they’ll play in MB today. Here in Charleston we’re well into our 4th inch of rain with constant lightning. When the tide comes in later today, Dunes Club will be submerged.
@TrenchTrotter@Scarletboy44 Superb photos. Do you happen to know what the yellow flowering plants are? Some kind of brassica, mustard or rapeseed for oil?
@kershaw_alex My wife’s cousin, Harold Ray Boykin, of the Boykin Spaniel family of SC, was KIA on Iwo Jima, 3 March 1945, age 22. He is buried in the Florence, SC National Cemetery,
@kejamieson_ I’m in the home stretch on “Endurance.” Two more parts bags plus sails & the ship will be complete. Built the 4 lifeboats this morning, missing 1 large part on the final boat. The thing is gigantic, especially after adding topmasts. I need that James Caird kit.
@kejamieson_ Building this right now, 2/3 of the way complete. Easily the most complex Lego kit I’ve built, had to repeatedly tear down & rebuild entire sections. Still huge fun, enjoy.
@m_millsey Main feed with Fowler & Herbstreit is on big ESPN, other ESPNs also carrying game but with other, or no, announcers. One of the other ESPNs is apparently Sky feed with, I guess, British announcers.
Exiting this sewer. It was fun until it wasn’t. Trying Threads. Heading south, driving is one of my favorite things. Loading the Taco with bikes & boards & may not stop until Costa Rica. Vayo Con Dios.
