@dment37 I am new to these puzzles. I can see people forming circles. How can we do this? Does this ovoid have special properties? Also, how do we know the short side of the blue triangle is the same as the 3.5 vertical length at the top of the ovoid?

@DrFrostMaths That makes sense. In due course could you post a list of the Exam skill number matched with its Key Skill number? I only ask because I have just put all the KS nos next to the topic in my SoW.

@mathsjem 2/n what I would say, however, is plotting on scales is routinely rubbish. Students don't get scales, we need a whole lesson on that at least. Hmm

@MissEmilyCragg Look, we can get all mathsey about this. But essentially it is all about recurring decimals and the fact that we can't really get a grip of them. They go onto infinity and this proof takes advantage of that fact. It blew my mind when I first experienced it too. 1 of 2

Help please. Does anyone know of a good App for marking maths work submitted as a PDF? I want to mark it freehand with my graphic pad & stylus. Sejda has this ability but too quickly converts to an image before the marking is finished. Makes it very irritating to use. Thanks

It depends, for a laugh I say, "because it's in the exam", more seriously I talk about engineering, encryption with primes, pyramids & Pythagoras, anything I can think of from real life, banking, etc.

@C_Hendrick @HealJim I once taught a maths class and because I was being observed by Ofsted I made it 'all singing all dancing'. I was awarded an 'excellent'. I knew they hadn't really learnt anything as they were too busy having fun. Next lesson I picked it back up with 'chalk & talk'. That worked.
