To all you commie freaks for whom I've become such a headache...this is why I do this. This is my parents coming home to see everything they'd lost because of your stupid commie leaders.
Am I fucking up your little campaigns? Shouldn't have killed John Wick's dog.
I had a good life, raising my boys, feeding hummingbirds. You stupid communists defunded our fire department, never maintained the brush on your government property, and you gave $750K raises to the morons who drained our reservoirs during fire season.
Fuck. All. Of. You.
I will never stop until every last communist is expelled from polite society.
You work for a republican in like the reddest state in the country. Talk about starting on 3rd base and thinking you hit a triple. How'd your Presidential campaign turn out, by the way?
I'm just a dad. I ran for mayor as a republican in communist LA and singlehandedly boosted turnout over 30% from the prior election.
When I say most consultants suck, without ever naming you...but you take it personally and throw a public hissy fit, you may not realize what you're confessing...
@elonmusk@garyleff@Delta Used Starlink for first time on a United flight month ago. Wasnt even a major route. Was amazing. As fast as our home high speed. Delta is the major carrier in our area but will be looking United more just for the wifi experience
@JohnLeFevre Experienced it on United a months ago for first time. Was amazing. And free just for becoming a member. Will make me look to United over Delta for sure.
Gavin Newsom loves MOUs. Impotent pageantry for an impotent governor. MOUs are the ultimate performative false hustle. They give the appearance he's signing some meaningful legislation, but they're literally meaningless.
MOU stands for: Masturbatory Optics & Useless
I promise you’re not even slightly prepared for how INSANE this story is. Not only has the town they’re in not had a single COVID case in months but it was originally founded as a commie bar for lesbians where paying was optional. Eventually almost no one paid the cover fee (predictable) and 2 of the original owners left. The full time mask requirement left them almost no business. One of the owners left to go to CLOWN COLLEGE.
The drama here is that they’re making masks optional for ONE NIGHT OF THE WEEK!
In a town with NO COVID cases….
I mean it would be nuts if there was COVID too but how are they so delusional that they think they need to mask with zero cases!?!
The one remaining owner is living in her car because the commie business model is failing so terribly. She can’t pay herself or her employees.
Her detractors, who have been bar patrons, have been attacking her as well for sometimes forgetting to use alt text on social media posts, which they call ableist and dangerous. 😂
Some responses she got to ONE night where masking would be optional:
"PEOPLE LIKE YOU KILL DISABLED PEOPLE"
"YOU’RE COMPLICIT IN A MASS DISABLING EVENT"
"I HOPE YOUR VENUE GETS FIREBOMBED"
So… 😂😂😂 Next she brings in a mediator to hear out the crazy people. The meeting goes off the rails almost immediately because the mediator (who’s a therapist) is White. They then said she was a mandatory reporter who could force hospitalize them. They said the mediator made them feel "wildly unsafe."
The owner is 50k in debt on the business loan and living in her car. When she brought this up they said she was spilling White Tears for sympathy which they found "incredibly racist."
The meeting went on like this for nearly 4 hours.
Long story short: these leftists are literally insane. So insane that clown college seems like the most intelligent move in this deranged story. 🤡
You can never let them have any power.
People keep asking me to push for one Mayoral candidate or the other. Trying to decide the best move. Guys...it's over. LA had its chance for a candidate of change back in June, and instead...they voted for continued destruction. Both candidates will make LA worse.
I feel like Hank in that late episode of Breaking Bad...he's already shot to hell, Walt is desperately bargaining with the Nazis to spare his life in exchange for all the money he has. He begs Hank to tell them to take the deal. Hank just looks at him and says "you're the smartest guy I ever met. And you're too stupid to see...he made up his mind 10 minutes ago."
I hate to break it to you, but the fate of LA is already baked into the cake 3 months ago. There's no more wheeling and dealing, no clever ballot trick, no October surprise that's gonna get you out of it. Your chance was in June, and a lot of you just stayed home. Or voted for Alan Miller. I told you to get ten of your friends to vote, and you didn't do it.
Elections have consequences, so I hope you all now appreciate that, and operate with a greater sense of urgency with these things. Vote for governor, you still have a shot. Vote for voter ID. Vote down all the new taxes. But for Mayor, it's too late.
A man dressed like Captain America who calls himself “Chrisp LikeTheChicken” believes me to be a hypocrite. He writes…
"Mike - People don’t accuse you of hypocrisy because you don’t offer scholarships to four-year schools. You’re a hypocrite because you preach to be for the working-class while being funded by anti-union Koch bros. and regurgitate Republicans talking points while they’ve systematically dismantled the working class for the past 40+ years."
Hello there, Chrisp. Nice outfit! As a rule, I don’t debate with grown men who dress like super-heroes and hide behind a pseudonym, but since you’ve been so candid with your criticism, and since I’m trapped on another plane for the next few hours, I’ll bite.
First of all, let me assure you that many people do in fact, accuse me of hypocrisy because I have a four-year degree, but don't offer scholarships to four-year universities. I hear from these people every day, and they are very clear about the extent of their disappointment. Interestingly, many of those same people, also call me a hypocrite because I had a long and varied career in the entertainment industry before I launched mikeroweWORKS. They use the fact that I used to work as an actor, narrator, singer, and writer, to undermine any opinion I might have about education and workforce that they don't share. (He's just an actor! He sang in the Opera! What does he know?) These ad hominem attacks are very popular among those with no actual arguments to make, and easy to identify once you start looking for them. Consider those who tried to dismiss Ronald Reagan's ideas because he used to be an actor, or more recently, Markwayne Mullen's nomination to Secretary of Homeland Security, because he used to be a plumber. (I'm talking to you, Jimmy Kimmel.)
To your second point, I've never preached or claimed to speak for the "working class," especially as you define them. Like many others who favor the term, you imply that the "working class" is limited to those workers who are represented by unions. I don't share that view. Although I've been critical of some union policies in the past, and argued that not all unions are created equal, I have no issue with organized labor. In fact, I've worked closely with dozens of them, and featured them prominently on Dirty Jobs, Somebody's Gotta Do It, Returning the Favor, and other shows over the years. Most tellingly, many of the 3,500 people my foundation has assisted are members of a trade union today, and I’m very happy for them. But, like the workforce overall, most of my scholarship recipients do not join unions, for all kinds of reasons.
Fact is, Chrisp, the sum total of all workers in America who belong to a union – public and private sector combined - is barely 10%. Begging the obvious question...why would a guy who dresses up like Captain America want me to ignore 90% of the American workforce? And why for that matter, would a super-hero like you want me to reject financial assistance from companies, foundations, or individuals who employ so many hard working, highly skilled, well-compensated Americans? Does Captain America really want everyone to be in a union? If so, he should maybe consider changing his name.
As for Republican talking points, again, I would invite you to prove the accusation. Just because I happen to say something that might coincide with a conservative position, doesn’t mean I’m “regurgitating” anyone else’s talking points. I’ve been a registered Independent my whole life, and I’ve tried to limit my public comments to issues pertaining to workforce and education. But if you really find my opinions inconsistent with your own, and feel compelled to tell six million people why you think I’m a hypocrite with no actual proof, you might want to at least consider the possibility that your disappointment has less to do with me, and more to do with the narrowness of your own worldview. Is that possible, Chrisp? Is it possible that you think I’m a hypocrite simply because I don’t share your priorities?
I'll tell you what I think. (I know you didn't ask for my opinion, but I didn't ask for yours either, right?) I think your worldview is largely shaped by the eternal struggle between labor and management. I think you see one as the oppressor, and the other as the oppressed, and I think that perspective has made your world a very small place. Thus, my view of organized labor is just too nuanced for a super hero like you. Anything short of total fealty is a threat to your belief system. Because I don’t focus entirely on the 10% of the workforce that matters most to you, you see me as a threat. Because I might not vote the way you vote, you see me as a threat. Because I accept support from people you don't like, you see me as a threat. And because I have a large public platform, you see me as an even bigger threat.
The unfortunate part, is that you don't seem to care at all about the 3,500 hundred people my foundation has assisted, most of whom are making a pretty great living outside a union. And because you’re not alone in your apathy, fear, and paranoia, you’ve whipped up the courage to hide behind a pseudonym, dress up like an imaginary Avenger, and criticize anyone who falls short of your own beliefs and expectations. With respect, "Mr. LikeTheChicken," I think your name says it all...
Mike
The comments are rife with morons who, having the benefit of watching this on a 4" screen, think they would have done a better job than people trained to deal with these scenarios.
I was trained to disarm knife-bearing attackers. Some of the knife bearing attackers I trained with were actually formally trained to use knives to unalive people. At one point we spent 3 whole days (literally from 0830hrs to 2100hrs) drilling while some guy recorded us using a VHS-C handicam, then rewatching the footage, critiquing, evaluating, adjusting methods and scenarios, and redrilling. The inescapable conclusion after 3 days of knife drills? Even a spastic gelatinous mass of untrained chubbery had a 90% + chance of causing grievous bodily injury. (We had these cool marker knifes that left red and blue streaks anywhere they contacted.) 40% of those could be fatal when evaluated with respect to underlying structures such as arteries, airways, nerves, or organs.
Do you know what our final decision at the end of 3 days was? If a knife wielding attacker presents even an minimally credible threat, magdump center mass, then go home and cry on your wife's perfect bosoms about how you had to kill someone while your kids ask what's wrong with daddy. Because you may live to regret having made a life or death decision, but it's more important that you live.
