📣 As the housing crisis worsened under the Tories, HMOs have become more prevalent inc in Filton, Stoke Park & Stoke Gifford.
More people living in more homes than infrastructure planned for impacts communities.
Thanks to Minister @mtpennycook for agreeing to meet me on this
This failed Tory legislation succeeded only in poisoning industrial relations.
We’re consigning it to history.
Our new deal will press reset on the a scorched-earth approach that blocked negotiations to resolve disputes and prevent disruption.

End of Week 1 and we've hit the ground running:
🍃Ended 9yr onshore wind ban in 72 hours
🌞 New solar for energy security
🔋 Clean Power Mission Control
🇬🇧 National Wealth Fund
🫶 Great ministerial team
🏗️ Talks on Grangemouth
We're just getting started!
Just past 5pm on a Friday and I'm reflecting on what a momentous week this has been for climate and nature in the UK, finally led by a govt serious about green growth, energy security and defending our natural environment.
This is what Labour in power looks like (week one) :
💥 Labour's been in Government for less than a week. In that time, we've already:
✅ Banned new oil licences
✅ Lifted the ban on onshore wind
✅ Started work on GB Energy

In two days the govt have cancelled the Rwanda scheme, confirmed rail nationalisation, told Netanyahu they support a ceasefire + statehood, appointed a prison reformer prisons minister and a pro-Palestine activist AG. And the left is desperate to chalk it up as a defeat
Labour's new Foreign Secretary @DavidLammy using one of his first interventions to speak about Gaza, including:
👉Immediate ceasefire
👉Release of hostages
👉Unfettered aid
👉Two state solution
LFPME has called for these since October and welcomes them now being UK Govt policy
Sir Keir Starmer has killed off the Rwanda deportation plan on the first day of his premiership
Labour insiders confirmed to The Telegraph that the scheme to deport migrants who arrived in the UK illegally to Rwanda was effectively “dead”

Based on Labour’s shadow cabinet, 84% went to comprehensive schools, 10% went to private schools and 6% to state grammar schools.
That would mean for the first time the cabinet closely reflected British society. https://t.co/CuFcvtuJ7z
🗳️ Voted for that Claire Hazelgrove in the end. She seems alright!
Incredibly grateful to everyone putting their trust in me & Labour candidates across the country.
I know many people are voting Labour for the first time - thank you.
Thanks to all working at polling stations!
