@emilykmay I filed for divorce because it was time for me to come out. We had been married 18 years and she had known for a while that I was gay. Although I never fooled around until after leaving. I don’t think either of us were being shitty, we were just set up to fail by religion.
@wyatt_blaze__ @Bemorte @theidaholawyer Man you should read some BoM.
How many times did the churchgoing people wax in iniquity due to their pride?
Many times.
And the Lamanites were often the more righteous ones.

I would look Jesus, or any deity, right in the eyes and with a good conscience tell them I did my best to help people and be a good person. I am confident a loving god- if they exist- will see that in me. If they don’t- then I don’t care to live with them anyway :-)
@truth_mormon @Bemorte I believe in this so strongly that when the 2015 Policy of Exclusion came out to forbid children from being baptized, I knew that the gates of hell had opened to receive the first presidency and the Q12. Because with that policy they opposed Jesus’ plain teaching.
@kevinmyoung@Davwud These days I am wondering - maybe Christians actually do represent Jesus. After all, “by their fruits ye shall know them” is a core Christian principle. So maybe Jesus actually in fact encouraged people to be terrible to each other. 🤷♂️
@kGRRCrossing @mediocremumsy I got married as a BYU student and my soon-to-be-wife went in for her premarital exam and the doctor was sad I didn’t join. Evidently he wanted to size me up to figure out what size dilators to give her??? 🤷♂️🙈🤯🤦♂️
@LCNM_Patriot@BrynnTannehill Wet bulb temperature is different than your 100F days. It measures the lowest temperature you can get to by sweating. We cool by sweating, but if the wet bulb temperature is at body temperature or higher, we literally can’t cool down and will die.
@rickpidcock Beautiful. I love the way you are able to frame this. You’re not avoiding the pain or the disappointment, but you are building on it.
Honesty, authenticity => empowerment
Makes me want to listen to your music.
@Enos_Envy This is devastating.
Truly LDS leaders lack discernment.
To me, that was one of the most damning things about the church.
Your father sounds like he could use some therapy.
@reneehwilliams @Bemorte Ever since the church silently annulled the framework of common consent as laid forth in the Doctrine and Covenants, the question of authority is made null and void because now there doesn’t exist an approved way of expressing criticism of the church.
As we celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary, my wife and I would like to thank all of you who affirm our marriage even though it’s not aligned with the traditional biblical model in which I would be a polygamist and she would be my property.
@Bemorte It feels somehow like a betrayal rather than a simple hypocrisy. The fundamental scripture behind Mormon beliefs (D&C 132) in the family is not just supportive of polygamy, it *requires* it.
The nuclear family Mormons idolize is explicitly not sufficient for exaltation.
