With small local charities such as city farms being on lockdown too we have been finding ways to keep their stories alive.

After four years as @RDAnational Honorary Vet it’s time to hand over the reins. I’m sad to leave, but proud to do so at a time when the @rdavets team is stronger than ever. The excellent Nick Hart will be taking over as Hon Vet, and he’ll of course be supported... (Thread)
... a huge thank you to everyone at RDA for this opportunity. I’ve had a great time working with you and I’m really proud of everything we’ve achieved together. I’m sure we’ll meet again, and I’ll definitely be popping in for an ice cream at #RDAChamps2020! Wishing you all...
@clarebalding @VetlifeVBF support vets, as the role is more stressful than many appreciate; at its worst vets have a suicide rate well above national average. There seems to be a growing mistrust of vets by the public, who are often much kinder to us when they understand what the job entails.
@clarebalding Forgive me if you’re already aware of them, but I just wanted to to shout out some incredible UK vets and organisations who are making a huge impact on UK dog welfare (and that of their linked humans). You may find interesting, and could be great topics to consider for #Dogcast
@clarebalding@BritishVets and @RoyalVetCollege Brachycephalic Working Group are working hard to improve the quality of life for brachycephalic dogs, and raise awareness of the welfare problems these animals can face as a result of their ongoing popularity. #BreedToBreathe
@clarebalding@streetvetuk and @streetpawsvet provide vet care, coats, blankets, food and toys to animals belonging to members of the UK homeless community, as well as campaigning for dogs to be allowed in shelters so that they can stay with their owners whilst they get back on their feet.
@clarebalding@Official_APBC provide training and accreditation meaning pet owners know that their member behaviourists are practicing modern, science-based and kind behavioural therapy (which a growing number of dogs are benefiting from). #behaviour#petbehaviour
@clarebalding@CAMarthritis is run by vets working to increase awareness of arthritis and chronic pain in dogs, and help owners and vets work together to improve the quality of life of dogs affected by this incredibly common disease. #ActAgainstArthritis
Great news! Targeted worming has been shown to fight drug resistance, and cut parasite control costs. RDA horses get discounted tests (thanks to @westgatelabs) which saves even more money. Any questions please ask your Regional Vet #RDAVets#HorseWorming#Worming#EquineWelfare
We are lucky to be supported by Westgate Labs they are kindly offering RDA groups discount from 1st December. Have a look on their website for more info https://t.co/xthSaZCSYm https://t.co/5nazwZkdVE
Today is the World Horse Welfare Annual Conference. The @RDAnational Equine Team are there, alongside some really cool UK vets and others working in #EquineWelfare. Check out the feed @HorseCharity for info updates on what’s being discussed throughout today. #TheETeam@Emma_RDA
