I have lived in eight states, always in or near cities. For the most part, I have pretty much found people to be quite similar. Always heard that New Yorkers, were rude. Now in my eighth state, only a few miles from NYC, I have a profound observation. The people here are by far, the friendliest folks I have encountered. And that’s the way it is.

Stoppage (or added/injury) time is extra minutes tacked on at the end of each 45-min half to make up for delays: injuries, subs, goals, VAR, time-wasting, etc. Ref keeps a tally & announces it (e.g., 90+5). Clock never stops—unlike most US sports.
Pros: Keeps flow & momentum. Quick restarts rewarded. Iconic 90-min format.
Cons: Subjective. Controversies over “enough?” time added. Time-wasting still happens.
Better to stop the clock on dead balls/injuries?
Would be more precise & cut faking injuries, but risks slower games, lost urgency, longer matches, and changes soccer’s rhythm. Tradition wins for now—FIFA’s improved accuracy helps.
