@adampeacock3 The point of the MW story is to highlight how sport news becomes an infomercial for a product that is commercially tied to the media outlet.
@WS_PapaFen When AFL/NRL fans misbehave they are always described as outliers: “the idiots spoiling it for everyone else”, whereas when A-League fans misbehave the whole sport is attacked. The bias in the mainstream media is blatant!
@DavidCrisafulli How about putting a few dollars into football (aka soccer); a sport played by more than 10 times as many Queenslanders than rugby, and millions around the world.
@VinceRugari If A-Leagues All Access had been played at prime time on channel 10 it would have been successful- the narratives went well beyond just football
@SYDFCConspiracy Spot on. Can’t believe the prices. So misguided by the Bulls. I believe they could easily double their crowds with affordable tix. It’s not a wealthy area and as you say, it’s not exactly a modern stadium!
@joekayfootball There are a few youngsters in the squads due to reduced TV money. This can lead to some rookie mistakes such as were seen in the WSW game. Overall, I think the league’s standard is high. SFC gave Hiroshima a really strong run for their money, and they are top of the J-league
@Sachk0 I’m worried that this incredibly talented Aussie has moved overseas too early, and won’t develop into the player we all know he can become. Like eg Garang Kuol who seems to be lost in the system.!?
@millfieldsports It was an epic fail to create a new team with no geographical separation from the existing A-League team. Especially in such a tribal sporting city. CFG can’t be blamed for that. Moral qualms aside, CFG have been a positive. The club has been financially stable and won trophies.
@AMAZlNGNATURE I love dogs, but this tweet is dangerously misleading- it suggests you can absolutely trust a GS dog not to harm babies and toddlers. That’s completely false!
@aleaguemen@brisbaneroar I can’t think of anything more cringeworthy or embarrassing than a foreign team being fawned over at the expense of a local team.
@Sokaris84@caineyten@FootballAUS The a-league clubs are not franchises.
Despite recent challenges, what we have now is infinitely better than the old NSL
@Craig_Foster@AusRepublic Craigplease think carefully before criticising the fact that the G-G. is unelected! The a-political constitutional umpire works well. We just don’t want it to be the monarch of England! The 1999 republic referendum was defeated because that issue became clouded!
