A critical bug in the Rust clone of the “cp” command is causing Ubuntu builds to fail.

In order to get Ubuntu builds to work again, the Ubuntu team decided to revert back to the GNU Coreutils version of “cp”.

This came after Canonical’s VP of Engineering stated that ALL (100%) of the GNU “Coreutils” would be replaced with Rust-based (MIT licensed) clones… by the release of Ubuntu 26.10.

That’s 4 months from now.

BAD NEWS: Apple removed Hypervisor support from XNU in iOS 16.4. Here is a diff of iOS 16.3.1 and iOS 16.4. What this means is that even if a jailbreak/TrollStore comes out for iOS 16.6.1/17.0, there will not be UTM virtualization support, even on M1/M2 iPads.
