At work, Robin Delapena spends her time digitizing our insect collection. Outside of the office, she’s working equally hard for bugs, planning and planting her native pollinators garden.
@ChiGardenAwards We know that “small but mighty urban habitats play a powerful role in supporting monarchs.“ Robin’s city garden is a great example of how we can help butterflies and other essential pollinators. #OnItTogether https://t.co/D8eup4WcHo
"Insects get such a bad rap. People don't realize they play such an integral role in our existence. We NEED them. If we were wiped out, they would have no problem surviving without us. The reverse isn't true."

And now @FieldMuseum's new exhibit lets visitors get up close and personal with all sorts of creepy-crawlies.

That’s my girl Olivia. She’s just beautiful! She was the one of the highlights of the evening! So glad I could share her with our members :) #fieldmembersnight https://t.co/mh2ryFIwKu
Meet the orchid mantis. She is delicate, gorgeous, and a rare occurrence at #FieldMembersNight apparently. Getting to explore the insect & botany research depts behind the scenes at the Field Museum was AMAZING.
