Willem Dafoe has lived in the same SoHo loft since 1983. Despite four decades of stardom, he’s known for walking everywhere, taking the subway, and moving through New York like any other local. 🎬
We need to absolutely cherish this director/composer relationship. We are lucky to have each new opportunity to take this work in… we don’t have many of these moments left. Take it in folks…
6/4: Happy 30th Anniversary to Load. It’s Metallica’s 6th studio album, released on this day back in 1996. The album debuted & spent four weeks at #1 on the US Billboard 200 chart and is certified 5x platinum.
Actor Rusty Goffe, who played the Oompa Loompa in the original 1971 movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, was recently spotted at The Chocolate Expo singing the famous “Oompa Loompa” song he sang in the film.
Mick Foley posted on Instagram about his AEW debut at Double or Nothing.
“Now there’s nothing wrong with getting a nostalgia pop. I’ve received plenty of those and they feel good. But the reaction I received in New York was different. It was a reaction that said we’re glad you’re here and that I could still make a difference. In no way am I here to throw stones at WWE. I love the company. I always will. I will always be deeply appreciative for every opportunity they afforded me, but there’s something unique about seeing the owner of the company just so obviously happy and excited. Mr. McMahon had a different way of doing things, but it wasn’t that type of joy. It just seems like to me, the AEW wrestlers are out there and they are playing to win because it is understood that failure is part of the process. I’ve seen so many people over the years almost petrified to walk through that curtain because they didn’t know whether they’d get the thumbs up or the thumbs down figuratively speaking. Tony’s excited. Tony loves what he’s doing. He’s happy to be there and I think that type of enthusiasm makes me feel enthusiastic. After I did my in-ring promo, a couple of the wrestlers on the card said, ‘Hey, so I guess you’ll be taking off?’ I was like, ‘What am I gonna do? Watch Friends reruns in my hotel room? There’s a show. It wasn’t just a show. It was an amazing show. People were so excited. The energy backstage reminds me of the way WWE felt during the Attitude Era when we were all actively pulling for each other, but we also understood that striking out was part of the process of hitting monumental home runs. So I am really glad to be in a place where wrestlers are encouraged to swing for the fences. Where it’s understood that not every hit’s gonna leave the park. I’m excited about where this adventure’s going to take me. I consider myself like a Swiss Army knife and I can be used a lot of different ways, and I’m just excited about the future and I’m excited about wrestling in a way that I haven’t been in a few years. I want to thank AEW fans, and the AEW product for helping me fall in love with professional wrestling all over again.”
The Carousel of Progress opened for the 1964 World’s Fair
Walt Disney was born in 1901, so he was 63 when it came out
The show covers:
-The 1900s (when Walt was born)
-The 1920s
-The 1940s
-The future
1964 was 62 years ago
If Walt Disney were creating the Carousel of Progress today at the same point in his life it would cover
-The 1960s
-The 1980s
-The 2000s
-The future
Disney has announced they are making the following scenes
-The 1960s
-The 1980s
-1999->2000
-The future
They are bring BACK Walt’s vision!
I don’t think he would have let it sit barely updated for 60 years. It is completely against the message of the show! You can be skeptical regarding the execution, but the announcement makes a lot of sense. This makes it near perfect timing to completely redo the show.
🇨🇦 MONTREAL 🇨🇦
As announced by the Toronto Sun, AEW is returning to Canada this Summer with a BRAND NEW PPV: #AEWRedemption!
This inaugural event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 26th at the @centrebell in Montreal, Quebec.
After giving it the day to breathe, I really think Double or Nothing might be the best PPV I’ve seen in like 25 years. I got my $40 worth in the first 30 minutes and the rest was just gravy on top of gravy. Start to finish, it’s tough to name a better pro wrestling show.
it’s crazy to me how many people just watched aew for the first time tn. as someone who’s watched wwe since i was 6 and started watching aew at its beginning, it’s so foreign to see people just pick one. i hope everyone sticks around for aew in the future!
AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 was incredible. Waking up for work right now and I'm immediately back to thinking about how great the show was. 4 hours flew by. Crowd was on fire the whole time. Every match felt like a big deal &:over delivered. What a fuckin Wrestling show. #AEWDoN
Never in my entire AEW fandom have I seen more people tweeting that tonight was the first time checking out #AEW and they absolutely loved it.
#AEWDoN was one of if not THE best PPV events in AEW history, and call me a mark, call me a shill, call me whatever you like
This may be a top 10 PPV I’ve ever seen in my entire life.
AEW did everything right tonight, and gained an absolute tonne of new fans looking for something different.
Awesome for pro wrestling!
This has been an insane show.
#AEW continues to stay on brand regarding PPVs.
The PPVs absolutely deliver and are worth every penny.
AEW has A LOT going right for them, looking forward to seeing them continue the momentum.
