BREAKING: California's superstar Governor Gavin Newsom obliterates Donald Trump for blatantly lying about him, tells him to "take your dementia meds, grandpa" and then brutally fact-checks him.

And he wasn't done there...

"Shockingly, I have just learned, that Gavin Newscum, the Governor of California, is in final stages of approval to build Low Income Housing in Pacific Palisades," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "How unfair is that to the people that have suffered so much!"

"Newscum allowed their houses to burn by not accepting Hundreds of Millions of Gallons of Water from the Pacific Northwest, and now, the Low Income Housing starts rising long before he gets Permits for California Citizens to rebuild, but long after the Federal Permits were issued," Trump continued.

"Lee Zeldin, EPA Administrator, and I, as President, have done the job, and produced all Permits long before anybody expected that to happen," he wrote. "Unfortunately, the Governor of California and Mayor Karen Bass failed you. Gavin Newscum’s plan to build Low Income Housing (at the Super Luxury Pacific Palisades Fire Site) is what caused the destruction of the Late, Great New York City Mayor John Lindsay’s Political Career — and John Lindsay was a Republican."

It should come as no surprise that Trump was lying in his post. Newson's Press Office, which has been relentlessly trolling Trump in recent months, sprang into action.

"Take your dementia meds, grandpa. You are making things up again," the account wrote on X. The post was accompanied by an image annotating Trump's post.

"There is no state effort targeting new low-income housing in the Pacific Palisades,” read one note along with sourcing from the LA Times.

"The water in the Pacific Northwest DOES NOT reach or connect to water systems in California," read the second note, citing Forbes.

"The Governor does not issue housing permits, LA City and LA county do. They've issued 885+" read the third note, citing the California government's website.

"There is no such thing as a federal housing permit. They have not been 'approved' because they DO NOT EXIST," read another note along with a direction to ask X's AI bot Grok to investigate the issue.

This is exactly how you combat Trump's lies. Hit him with an insult designed to get under his thin skin, then follow it up with a list of cold hard facts. It's incredibly consistent with Trump's low character to exploit a tragedy like the Los Angeles wildfires for political gain, but this time he ran into the brick wall that is Gavin Newsom.

Unlike Trump, the governor is actually interested in solving problems rather than just scoring cheap PR points. In July, he announced $101 million in new funding to help rebuild multifamily rental affordable housing in LA.

BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV kicks the MAGA hornet's nest by tearing into Republican greed, says that "we're in big trouble" now that Elon Musk is poised to become the world's first trillionaire.

The Catholic Church isn't pulling any punches these days...

"CEOs that 60 years ago might have been making four to six times more than what the workers are receiving … 600 times more,” the pope said in a new interview with a senior correspondent for Crux.

“Yesterday [there was] the news that Elon Musk is going to be the first trillionaire in the world. What does that mean and what’s that about? If that is the only thing that has value any more, then we’re in big trouble," he added.

The Tesla board recently unveiled a heinous trillion-dollar pay package for Musk, who is still the company's CEO and largest shareholder. In order to obtain that disgustingly plutocratic payout, Musk will have to ensure that Tesla's valuation increases from $1 trillion to $8.5 trillion over the coming decade. It's no mystery how he intends to achieve that...

Musk pumped money into Donald Trump's campaign and the Republican Party more broadly during the last election cycle to tighten his grasp over the federal government. By accelerating the corruption in Washington D.C., he hopes to ensure that massively lucrative government contracts continue flowing into his company. At the same time, he's inflaming cultural and partisan divisions by spreading lies about "left wing violence" and amplifying far-right propaganda about transgender people.

The richer that Musk gets — including from the tax cuts from the "big, beautiful bill" — the more money that he has to pump into our political system. It's a vicious cycle that funnels more and more power to billionaires while the rest of us have our rights stripped away and our democracy dismantled for parts. He is not someone to admire. He is a monster.

Much of MAGA world already despises Pope Leo because he speaks out in defense of migrants and the working class. They hate that he espouses the true values championed by Jesus Christ instead of the twisted, greed-based evangelical ideology that underpins the modern GOP. His criticisms of Musk, although measured and fair, are sure to make him more enemies on the right.
