I see a lot of people getting angry about memecoins in the name of “real utility” so I wanted to share some thoughts (and facts)

The reality: 99% of “real utility” tokens have tech that NO ONE will ever use, or better yet, will never even launch their tech

Most of these tokens launch at ridiculously high FDVs so that early stage investors can still dump in massive profit even after the token is down 90%+, while retail buyers think they are getting in at a “discount”

NOW BEAR IN MIND… tokens attached to REAL WINNING PRODUCTS DO WELL. Go look at $JUP (although Jupiter’s main use case is allowing people to speculate on the kind of tokens utility bros hate but that’s a separate irony)

Tokens attached to big games will rip. Winning product tokens will rip. But why is it more “moral” for an average person to buy a token attached to a fake product than one attached to a mascot they like?

At the end of the day - almost every winning cryptocurrency serves the same purpose for the average buyer… price going up.

Memecoins main utility is community, a sense of belonging, and at the end of the day… are simply an unmasking of why everyone is in crypto anyway

Furthermore, the fair launch model is 100x more people-friendly and people are sick of getting dumped on by VCs

If you’re mad about memecoins because you feel they’re degrading the space in the name of gambling, I TRULY think you need a reality check BECAUSE…

ALL OF THIS IS GAMBLING. 99% of tokens will go zero. This game is musical chairs will stop again in the next year. Most people will be left holding their bags to zero wondering what happened after being led astray by moon boys calling for an infinite bull market.

Your only objective should be to get out with more chips than you came in with, so that you can buy more of the best asset class in the planet: Bitcoin

I TRULY empathize with hard working founders who feel awful about how hard they’re working while everyone migrates to memes. I do. But we must adapt and move with the tide.

This is just the reality.
