A gut-wrenching and heartbreaking loss yesterday to end our season. Alec Oberhauser and Brady Timm had monumental games. Alec, in his final Doane uniform, went out in grand style, a performance we'll all remember for a long time. Brady returns to lead us next season. Can't wait

Hopefully, a big crowd tomorrow to honor Seniors Alec Oberhauser and Will Grixby as they are finishing outstanding careers as Tiger players and even better as great young men. A must win with this game is in order for good GPAC Tourney seeding.

Excitement building for opening game a week from today. Players have worked hard in preparation and have made big gains with learning offensive and defensive schemes. Looking forward to a successful start! Adrenalin rush is now showing up!

Two of our first three initial season practices are finished with much success into offense introduction. Returners are patiently leading newcomers and coaches are emphasizing proper spacing, footwork, and motion to ultimately perfect a dynamic offense that will be hard to guard.

Getting psyched to begin official basketball practice on Sept 22. Guys have been shooting on their own and lifting hard in the weight room. Running work has begun. Our players will be in great shape. Returners have exhibited great leadership! Only 7 weeks to game 1

@JoelStryker1 Will be in just a few weeks!

Our coaches have been observing several 2022-23 prospects in recent Summer League games around the area. Recruiting never stops. Have had some great prospects and their parents on Campus for worthy visits to Doane University. Early indications point to a successful venture.

Doane Basketball experiencing Dog Days of Summer.
Almost finished with Sunday games in Omaha and awaiting August and return to the Campus and early conditioning start up. Season excitement on the horizon. New recruits will mix well with the veterans!

Doane hosted HS BB Camp yesterday for at least 19 teams. Played at Haddix and Crete Middle School.
Personal opinion: Doane needs an additional gym which would ease pressure for both BB teams and volleyball and provide opportunity for intramural activity.
BIG WISH to happen soon!

Obvious to most, but my prior tweet was for Doane Men's BASKETBALL😆

1st Annual Men's Golf Tournament was a success on June 5. 4 decades of former players, plus boosters, parents, coaches, and friends participated. Great food catered by a former Doane FB player helped cap off the fun.
Season excitement is building!!

Excitement was brewing in Haddix last night with several of our basketball players gathering for an informal practice for Summer League which starts June 5 in Omaha. A few more gatherings to follow. More players to report soon. Lots of hugs and high fives abound!!

Player's conferences with Coach are over for the year. Everyone now in Finals. Soon Summer Leagues start June 5 and thus a new beginning for a successful 2022-23! Can't wait for good things to come!

Spring basketball workouts are going well. Transforming next year's players with organized fundamental sessions
Also, good to see players in the gym early in the morning before classes shooting on their own and working on their perceived weaknesses. Great recipe to winning!

Great success is on the horizon for Doane Basketball!!

Concordia and Jamestown are in the NAIA Sweet 16. With our success this year against both teams and all upper tier GPAC teams, we are anxious to begin next season and the time is NOW with weight training having started and shooting groups ready to train in April.

Just missed an invitation to the NAIA National Basketball Tourney. On the positive side, this Season was a major turnaround from the last 9 years and has recharged our winning fortunes. Let's use the snub of not being selected as a major incentive for an even better next year!

[Roger Douglas @rdougmorejr]

Congratulations to Josiah Gardiner, Alec Oberhauser, Anthony Laravie and Brady Timm for esteemed recognition of being among the top players in the GPAC!
Josiah, Alec, and Brady will all return next year with intense aspirations to achieve a team invite to the National Tournament!

[Roger Douglas @rdougmorejr]

Senior Players Anthony Laravie, Jaxon Harre, Joe Burt, Tyler Sullivan, Max Masin, Ben Moxness, Trey Winkler, and Student Assistants Will Louis, Skyler Kelley, Connor Day have just reset Doane Basketball winning traditions this year! True leaders!

Heartbreaking 2 point loss in final seconds at Concordia on Saturday. Great College game full of talented players. Officials did nice job letting the teams decide the outcome. Now the wait, hoping that Selection Committee finds us worthy of a berth in the National Tourney. 🤞🤞
