@leedapea@Next50Years I think sometimes we mistake sacred from secret. While I don’t discuss somethings at all others I do but no with everybody because I want to keep it sacred
@sister_slay It’s part of the perks of trying to stay relevant. My only issue is that they might need a few dance lessons. Not all Mormons have bad rhythm — I do, but the rest are fine 😅.
@Sasquatchmess @Latterdaytruth We talk about baptisms because they give us measurable goals and help us stay accountable in the work. Without goals, it’s easy to settle. But of course, the real focus is helping people truly come unto Christ — baptism is a step along the way, not the finish line.
@sunfwrpwr@dustinharding@joyinbecomingp1 Totally agree with you, even though for a youn men is a must it’s an option (a good option) for yw. But my point is that now they have the option at 18 which
changes a lot the options for them
@BufflerRider@syninlv@ldsabuse@ChristoffDTodd Holding someone accountable for alleged wrongdoing is not the same as excusing it.
My point remains: position should never override justice.
Beyond that, I’ll wait for verified facts — not assumptions or personal attacks.
@ldsabuse Insults aren’t evidence. My position remains: if proven guilty, whoever it is should face full consequences, regardless of status.
That’s accountability — not allegiance.
@BufflerRider Disgusting is the crime, not the idea that no one is above accountability. If anything, this proves that status or ‘connections’ don’t prevent consequences—so the narrative of a protected inner circle weakens, not strengthens.
@ldsabuse I’ve been trying to find things about Gordon Bowen but I could not find them if your so kind to guide me where to find more info about him I’ll be grateful
@sunfwrpwr@dustinharding@joyinbecomingp1 Definitely but while you where seeking personal revelation serving a mission at 18 was not an option so it is different now.
@BSpackman I served at 18 after high school and while yes I acknowledge my immaturity I see no difference after a year or two 18 has been the norm for Mexicans for more than 3 or 4 decades. Fear not only believe
@BufflerRider@syninlv@ldsabuse@ChristoffDTodd I’ll explain why it’s not only bad but good for the church. If true which I have no clue, no one is protected by the church everyone should be accountable of their actions regardless of their “connections” so the theory of a deep church that protects their owns would be false
@KirtonMcBonky Haha you made me laugh for real, I see your frustration but everyone have had a vacation they didn’t like but that is not a cult is just part of being in an adventure and going out of our comfort zone. I wish I could do those trips that I dislike as young with my family again
@jacelala@inkstaindgrmnts Absolutely almost every year at least once since I was 14, but that because I love it, as many other books but that happens when you love something not when you hate it and don’t believe it’s true
