ASYLUM APPLICATIONS | With hundreds of foreign nationals gathered at Marabastad in Pretoria to apply for asylum, Tshwane resident Nonhlanhla Matading voices her concerns over the impact on local communities. She spoke to SABC News reporter Nonhlanhla Ntshingila.
What do you mean a South African child cannot get an ID because their parents died when they were young and they need to pay around R3,000 for DNA testing with a relative to obtain one, while a foreigner can simply get documentation for free?
The reason why South Africans are fighting so hard is because we don't have a backup country to run to if things fall apart. We don't have a Plan B country. This is our only home.💔😭
🔥🔥🔥SHUT DOWN ALL HOME AFFAIRS WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.
They're busy registering fake asylum seekers and refugees whereas we did not agree to that as South African citizens.

WATCH: The protestors are now marching along Smith Street in Durban and singing a song saying “the country is ours, why there is even a dispute about that”.
