Happy Veterans Day from the Great Conversations Team. There are no words to express how thankful & grateful we are for your service, and sacrifice. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. #VeternsDay2018#ISupportPUBLICSchools
Today we celebrate our Military Veterans and all that they have done to keep our country safe. Thank you for your service! Photos are of my grandfathers, one a WWII veteran, the other a veteran of the Korean War.
On behalf of SCHS, and all of our Buffs, we would like to thank all Veterans for their patriotism and willingness to serve and sacrifice. Thank you for your service!
Teaching is not a career for everyone. Not everyone has creativity, and enthusiasm, and flexibility, and compassion, and patience, and perseverance, and composure, and resourcefulness, and passion, and a sense of humor. Nope… teaching isn’t for everyone.

My 13 year old daughter has talked for several years about how much she loved her 5th grade teacher. I asked her what she liked about her. Her response: “She liked US!” So simple… yet so profound. Kids gravitate to the teachers that like them. They can tell.
I was a first year teacher in 1973. My first two years were pretty rough. It got better because as bad as I was, my students supported me. I wouldn’t trade a moment. I had a great 33 year career. Was a fairly successful Principal. You’ll see the rewards of your work. Hang tough!
@SteeleThoughts This just breaks my heart to read this. I wish people would remember the incredible burden students carry on their shoulders when we are expecting them to produce perfectly crafted homework, etc.
Staff needs to feel safe to take risks, and they need to understand failure is part of taking risks. If staff are scolded for taking a risk or they hear of another staff member admonished for taking a risk, the entire initiative to change can fail.
@kmc0108 It gets better. What you are feeling & going through is completely normal. Don’t let others discourage you. Seasoned teachers can go through the same thing. Make sure you have solid relationships with your kids. If you feel like you don’t, put that high on your to-do list.
