Price alerts are easy. “Event alerts” are hard.
I wanted to be notified when “Joby begins FAA flight testing” or “Etched Sohu hits $1M revenue”—without reading the news 24/7.
So I built Scout into my personal investing dashboard.
I just type what I want to track in plain English. Scout turns it into a structured monitoring loop (linked tickers, categories) and watches the web for me on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule.
It triggers when the event happens, and sleeps when it doesn’t. Maximum signal, zero doomscrolling.
Still just building this for my own portfolio using @cursor_ai & @WisprFlow

Kid just SMOKED a CNN reporter outside of Artemis II launch:
CNN: "Why do you want to be here?... Why do you love being a part of history?
Kid: "We're going back to the f*cking moon, that's why!" 🤣
I built a tool for myself as a retail investor.
Tired of 1000s of useless market notifications, I built something that only alerts me when my holdings make a significant move—and tells me exactly why.
Goal: Improved signal-to-noise ratio.
Not a product launch. Just building for my own workflow. It’s a brave new world where anyone can build their own software.
