Starting the week by reading the @BackstoryLdn magazine and it is full of so much joy and enthusiasm for books, and it is doing that magical thing of making me want to read everything and anything I can get my hands on
Found a very cool bookstore in Tokyo! Each square on the bookshelves is rented to a different person. The renters are free to curate and sell whatever books they want in their shelf space. My favorite was the shelf filled with handmade photo books of the renter’s cat
Returning to the UK the day before local elections and travelling on the trains on a bank holiday weekend has really been a crash course in reintegration

Back in September, my partner and I set out to make it to Indonesia from the UK without flying.
221 days and 47 books later, we managed to cover over 25,000km and we only had to take one (1) flight. I'm calling that a success 🫡
I wish everyone who's ever complained about the price of books (often while slurping a £12 cocktail) could read this excellent, sobering breakdown. It takes a village to raise a book, people, and every villager needs paying!
