I was asked to write the official biographical piece for the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography on Colin (it’s behind a paywall sadly): https://t.co/pNXkuNEwsy
There was a time when football summarisers were there to add insightful comment. Now broadcasters think we want to see their opposing reactions. There always seems to be one gutted and at least one delighted. I’m not certain we’re really that bothered, or is it just me?
@honkytonkman187@GaryJamesWriter Simple story - I managed to convince Tony to use a City Junior Blues pen during “Granada Reports” (he was a big red of course) - which he did. However, during the closing credits, and on camera, he snapped the pen in half. Red rat!!
@MWeaver72139842 Mark - I’m so sorry to hear this news. Look after yourself and enjoy as much as you can - you have a terrific positivity about you so keep this going if you can. Sincere good wishes
@RoderickOwain60 Hi Owain …. I’m not sure if you have had answers to your question or not but I seem to recall he bounced the ball on Dave Connor’s heel by mistake? Does that sound right to you? It was a very youthful City team that played that night.
Gary Neville just announced that Spurs are a bigger club than City... Then said 'historically!'... Then contradicted himself saying they are NOW! Say what??? A very strange man!
Don’t want to hear any more lazy, ill-informed critiques on Erling Haaland . He’s one of the best number 9s I’ve ever seen. Immense in body, ability and mentality. It’s obviously ignorance or attention-seeking, click-baiting to suggest negativity towards this machine.
I'm starting a new group chat for all the Manchester City fans!! 🩵
If you want to be added then you need to retweet, like and leave a comment ✅
I’m also going to be adding exclusive MatchDay pics and videos before and after games‼️
Must be following me so I can add you to group!!!!
@Tcaffair@citypodcast@NJLR@edwardtimpson @david_p_hodgson @ManCity Hi Tom! (and forgive me as I chose not to name you on this weeks podcast). I tend to be upbeat and positive in life and not just about City (!) and I still think there is hope for us - too many players playing with injuries and/or fatigue. Top 4 and a run in the FACup perhaps?
