@DatabaseHit Hitting with the barrel of the bat over 20% is a different level. He is in the zone right now and will not be stopped. Added 3(!!!) more barrels just from today.
@rogcastbaseball Noted this when I did a little deep dive myself about 2nd half struggles. Kerry had a similar results this year, killing it in the time he spent in LF, hitting well when he was in RF and downright dreadful as a DH.
@shay_072 Mara attempted to go up vertically with arms extended, lost his right side on the jump which twists his momentum forward and down. He lost any ability to control his jump and subsequent actions are about trying to stay up arms raised which causes him to "pump" his arms.
@fuckchrisilitch I think he should still get minutes as a 4/5 when Stew and Duren get back. Our bench has been dragging lately and he can definitely stabilize the backend of the defense with rotations and solid rim protection.
@suckmyskuballs@Miggysbat I think we package what we have to supplement the weaker points of the roster, pitching depth is paper thin after this year so probably not trading any of the future rotation away. My best guess is that we package a few prospects for a surefire bat at 3B or CF.
@suckmyskuballs@Miggysbat Spring training is going to be the litmus test for the batting side of the 40 man. I think we could see moves throughout it as AJ starts to find out who's ready for the next step or not.
@itsAntWright This one is like the Fears one where he is out of control and lifts the back leg out of control attempting to regain control of his balance, both bad plays predicated on the players lack of body control.
@itsAntWright My guess is balancing on a forward leg causes them to lean and kick out the back leg instead of readjusting their feet as a pair because of the increased train of thought on getting defenders/opposing players stuck on the back hip.
@DatabaseHit@MarmorisLion Gotta feel like the projections don't like Dingler bc of lack of consistent slugging, but his bat to ball skills are incredible. His BABIP last year was top 25 in the league(min 300 PA) and he loves to hit with RISP (nearly .300).
@KuKhahil Lineup should be Sasser, Duncan, Ausar, Reed, Stew. Use Ivey, Ron, Jenkins, Javonte off the bench with a hope that you can go small against them for a stretch or two to help keep the bigs fresh. Can not afford to have Stew get injured rn.
@DatabaseHit The one thing about analytics that does not mesh with modern baseball is that the shift rule changes have reoriented hitting approaches to pull for better results, but also avoiding hitting the opposite way against aggressive shifts. Line drives down either baseline are huge.
