Assalamu ’alaykum
Over the next few days, I’ll be transitioning this account to host an art & research project that I’ve been working on for some time, The Reading Room.
Work will be primarily devoted to researching + collating material on Islamic ethics from early sources
Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him we return.
Our paths in life may not be identically linear, but they have a directional quality that connects us all.
The most intimate and fundamental act of worship which connects mankind to their creator is ad-du’a.
The worship of supplication.
It is our trusty rope connecting us to Allah
It is the crux of our worship and the core of our servitude.
إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون… May Allah have mercy on my Ayeeyo. If I could kindly request everyone’s dua for my grandmother who has passed away recently, May Allah have mercy on her and widen her grave!
Without the mercy and tawfiq of Allah, what is man and his ambitions except the like of a waking dreamer, caught between the fantasies of sleep and the chaos of the real world
“How many aspects of a thing can you strip away before it ceases to be what it is called; when does something cease to be itself and become something else; when does meaning fall apart or definition stretch until it shreds?..."
“In the wildlife sanctuaries of literature, we study the science of speech, the flight patterns of individual words, the herd behaviour of words together, and we learn what language does and why it matters.”

Here in Saudi, recycling initiatives are instead called:
مشروع حفظ النعم
The Grace/Blessings Preservation Project.
A subtle connotation that our provisions are nothing short of a grace and blessing extended to us by Allah.
Language is everything.
