@EDUwithEmily These results are skewed heavily vs. the schools I visit. Feels like 75% don't have AC and 50% have so much heat they open the windows in November.
It's so silly. There is a better way than traditional phonics to teach kids how to read and it's just too hard some days to get folks to care.

@offgridteacher Ultimately it shows how systemic the challenges are in the school systems. There are so many neg results, where things we think would drive outcomes simply don't, but people don't really focus on them because tbh they are depressing :) What's not depressing? SuMM3R!!
@ShawnDatchuk Across 26 schools, explicit instruction has to be at least a portion of the business-as-usual group, so Shawn am I to read this as an argument against explicit writing instruction? This approach is likely easier to implement and less costly, with the same impact.
