Baby girl (aka Little One) has arrived! What started with a routine appointment led us to rush to the hospital for me to be induced and eventually deliver, but she’s here and is perfect. My friends and family were asked to send prayers for her, I’d love that from you too.
Happy #globalrunningday! This run was actually from yesterday; I had to split it up into two parts - I started out on the treadmill during my daughter’s naptime, but she woke up early. If you run today, the apps have badges for Global Running Day.
@4StringFriend@kaydreamer11 Ouh that’s rough. Prior to my last school I was union president and tried to negotiate to have IEP’s weighted more in class sizes. Then, I left for a charter and had even more students with IEP’s/students who were later identified.
My sister in law is the mental health coordinator at her local school. They have a new principal, and now over 50% of the teaching staff is quitting. She said if I want to get back into teaching, they could use my help in a 6th grade classroom: 32 students, and 14 IEP’s. 🙄
I think it’s a crisis that kids are growing up with no knowledge of Robin Hood & Merlin, Charlotte and Babar, Ratty and Badger and Long John Silver. In the words of Katherine Rundell, “We need to be infinitely more furious that there are children without books.”
