Freedom of religion matters, but public safety matters too. No child should be carrying a sharp weapon in schools or public spaces, regardless of the reason.
The Kirpan can still be respected as an article of faith through a symbolic version that is small, blunt, and non-sharp, preserving religious identity without risking harm to others.

We should act before another preventable tragedy happens. Respect faith, protect children, and put safety first.
