From the Columbus Dispatch:
Sen. Jon Husted confirms $INTC are in talks with a potential partner to co-invest on the Ohio site.
My thoughts on this in the next Intellionaire episode, coming soon.
Intel CFO:
➤ Approaching a $2 Billion run rate for ASICs
➤ AI PC revenue grew 26% sequentially, now represents two-thirds of client revenue mix
➤ Purpose-built silicon product line revenue rose ~20% sequentially and nearly tripled YoY
➤ Stepped up investments in Intel 14A in Q2 to prepare for risk production in 2027 and committed to high-volume ramps in 2028
➤ Factories exceeded volume targets during Q2
➤ 18A output increased meaningfully during Q2
➤ 18A-P is now positioned as a competitive node for external customers
➤ Increasingly confident 14A will be a highly competitive offering
➤ Fully committed to high-volume production of 14A chips in 2028
➤ 18A is now in volume production in the Core PC client segment across multiple products
➤ Will buy 40% more chip manufacturing tools in 2026 than in 2025
OpenAI's Sachin Katti said the same; easy to run on AMD thanks to AI.
Also, these first-and-best-customers will share their learnings with the open ecosystem:
"[We can] automate a significant portion of the work when anyone programs to an AMD GPU.
So it has dramatically shortened the path from a new model coming up to an efficient production deployment, and something that we can much more easily tune to changing workload requirements.
And that's a big deal.
So one of the other things that's super exciting for us is that AMD is built around an open software ecosystem.
All these things that we are now inventing internally for our own use, we believe can also bring it to the whole world and allow the whole world to use it for all of the AI models out there"
We are past the CUDA moat days.
Anthropic says Claude can bootstrap @amd Instinct + ROCm.
@NotTomBrown: "I think the thing that we were thinking about originally was whenever we're bringing up a new hardware platform, it's a big effort. It's like a huge thing. And so as we were thinking about this, we started doing our own evaluation of MI 355. You guys generously got us a rack to start working. And we expected this to be kind of a big process.
Our actual experience was we had one engineer who start doing it. They spun up Claude, asked it, hey, bring up this machine, left it going over the weekend. And we ended up with a graph of the actual performance of our leading model on it, just going up and up and up over the weekend."
AMD ADDED THAT OPENAI'S DEPLOYMENT IS ON TRACK AND SAID ANTHROPIC WILL USE AMD CPUS AND GPUS ACROSS CLOUDS, NEOCLOUDS, AND POTENTIALLY ITS OWN DATA CENTERS, UNDERSCORING STRONG ADOPTION OF AMD'S AI INFRASTRUCTURE.
Today, @AMD and @cerebras announce a historic partnership.
A new disaggregated inference architecture that combines the best of both worlds:
AMD Helios for world-class prefill performance and the Cerebras Wafer-Scale Engine for the industry’s fastest decode.
For years, AI inference forced a tradeoff between throughput and latency.
Developers don’t want that tradeoff. Neither do users.
The result of our partnership is an entirely new performance envelope for frontier AI: ultra-low latency at massive scale.
Faster AI changes what developers can build.
Richer user experiences.
Faster software development, robotics innovations and scientific discovery.
Entirely new classes of applications that simply weren't possible when inference is slow.
Proud to partner with @LisaSu and the AMD team again.
$DGXX 🚨🚨🚨🚨
AMD partnered with Cerebras to deliver faster, more efficient AI inference.
DGXX already has a 10-year Cerebras agreement, while its CTO has been saying the next AI race will be won by inference not just training.
Things that make you go hmm…

One reason I’m bullish on AMD: Advances in coding AI will naturally accelerate ROCm’s development and help close the gap with CUDA.
As part of its recent investment in Anthropic, AMD has already announced that it will actively use Claude Code for chip design and software engineering.
$GOOG It's hard to be negative on Google when its posting cloud revenue growth of this magnitude. Understandably, heightened capex scrutiny lately. But this is one impressive trend that normally would be seen as highly positive for application software companies.
Intel $INTC is seeking an operating partner for its delayed $28 billion Ohio chip campus, with SK Hynix among the companies being considered, Semafor reports.
The discussions are still preliminary, and no formal talks have begun.
SK Hynix denied reports that it plans to acquire the site outright.
AMD to invest up to $5bn in Anthropic in chip deal: Full Financial Times article below 👀👇👇👇
$AMD has struck a multibillion-dollar deal with Anthropic, which includes the US chipmaker making an up to $5bn investment in the creator of Claude Code.
Anthropic has committed to buying tens of billions of dollars of AMD’s latest AI server chips, boosting the chipmaker’s challenge to Nvidia.
This will add 2 gigawatts of computing capacity to Anthropic’s platform, with the first gigawatt — equivalent to the power output of a single nuclear reactor — due to come online in the first half of next year.
The deal adds AMD’s processors to Anthropic’s increasingly diverse portfolio of AI infrastructure, which also includes chips from Nvidia, Amazon and Google.
The Wall Street Journal first reported the deal.
AMD’s up to $5bn investment in Anthropic is dependent on meeting certain milestones.
AI companies are racing to lock in computing capacity amid an industry-wide semiconductor shortage that has sent chip stocks surging in the past few months. AMD shares are up more than 140 per cent so far this year.
“Access to compute is central to keeping Claude at the frontier and meeting demand from our customers,” said Tom Brown, co-founder and chief compute officer at Anthropic.

CrowdStrike $CRWD and Cerebras $CBRS are partnering to run Falcon AI Detection and Response models on Cerebras’ inference infrastructure, aiming to accelerate real-time threat detection and response.
$AMD and Anthropic sign a deal worth tens of billions with Anthropic set to deploy up to 2 GW of MI450 AI chips starting in the first half of 2027.
AMD will also invest up to $5B tied to deployment milestones and use Claude to help improve its chip technology.
