They told us it was safe.

They told us it was effective.

They demanded compliance in the name of the public good.

But it was not safe for everyone.

It was not effective as promised.

Individuals were seriously injured and then abandoned by the very governments that demanded their compliance.

Carrie Sakamoto did what her government asked of her. When she suffered a life-altering vaccine injury, that government left her to navigate the medical, financial and bureaucratic consequences largely on her own.

If government demands that citizens accept a medical risk for the supposed benefit of society, it must accept responsibility when that risk becomes someone’s devastating reality.

Carrie kept her end of the bargain.

Her government did not.

Before she could get the surgery, she needed more imaging.

During that time, the cancer spread so much, she can no longer have the surgery.

She’s a young woman.

In her 30s.

This should not be happening in Canada.

Instead, we send billions overseas in foreign aid.
