I was just sworn in as the new U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas—the chief federal law enforcement officer and lawyer for 43 counties and over 10 million Texans, from Houston to the Rio Grande Valley.
My office will relentlessly combat violent crime, illegal immigration, drug and human trafficking, corruption, and fraud. We will faithfully uphold the Rule of Law and protect the public with the energy and commitment the American people demanded when they elected President Trump. It’s about to get very bad for criminals in my District.

One nation in all of human history staked its existence on a single blazing truth: every soul enters this world crowned in God-given rights beyond the reach of any earthly power. 250 years later, America remains the boldest wager ever placed on human liberty. ❤️ 🤍 💙
Justice Hawkins deserves a follow! He served the people of Texas as Solicitor General, as a law clerk to Judge Edith Jones and Justice Samuel Alito, and as a partner at a big law firm. SCOTX Justices have been forces for good on X before. Hopefully the legacy lives!
@EWess92@VecchTweets I suspect that such a show-cause order would be for the court of appeals to issue, given that any such conduct would have occurred in that court and not the district court.
@EWess92 Not far off.
The thing is, once the Republican Party decided that the Hon. Matt Kacsmaryk was an acceptable person to invest with Article III judicial authority, there's a plausible argument that partisan control of the Senate outweighs much else, so we can get more like him.
