The story of #DNR Cat starts with a visit to the #cat dentist. Did you know that cats have to have general anesthesia for dental exams? 🙀
They asked mom if they should resuscitate me if anything should go wrong.

For a moment I thought I was no longer the DNR cat. Then I realized that will never be the case. My mother, the intensivist, does not even know how to resuscitate me. Which probably means that Simba is also DNR.
I will be less Simba-like when I consume treats in the future.

@thanh_neville @KaminskiMed@NidaQadirMD I do not like prehistoric elephants. But this reminds me that I must share the aftermath of my adventure with you all. There were many life lessons learned 😺
Day 10:
I feel badly for leaving Simba so abruptly. He is a sensitive cat. I must go back & at least chat with him a while and tell him of my adventures. Perhaps I can convince him to join me.
Oh who am i kidding? He does not move around much & will not be able to roam or hunt
Day 11:
Everyone has missed me. However, I am still seething, as I know I remain the only DNR cat in this home. The humans watch me like hawks & I have no privacy or personal space. My mom tends to my wounds from the raccoon fight but it just burns & I wish she would stoop.
I have no chance at escaping for now with everyone hovering over me. I will need to bide my time for a while so that they all settle down, but with every stifling hour, I grow even more determined to resume my adventure.
Simba grows on my nerves. He means well, but there is a reason I do not like dogs, & he has been even more dog-like since my return. It is all so smothering. I have to seek out tiny hiding spaces that he cannot squeeze into just so I can breathe.
#Caturday#CatsOfTwitter
But still he will be happy to see me. Everyone might love him, but I am his only friend.
I walk over & see possum fur & blood on the grass & momentarily wonder about the possum’s fate as I saunter into the house.
Before I know it, my dad slams the door shut.
I attack. It is almost too easy. I do not like possum meat so I spare his life but he is DNR now. This is his stupid face just before he saw me. Trust me, you do not want to see the photos of the aftermath.
I eat what’s left of the kibble and depart.
Day 9:
Yesterday was the equivalent of what humans refer to as a “Netflix & chill” day. I cat-napped & watched the day go by. I am bored now so I think today I will go visit Simba.
The door is open & sneaking in is no trouble at all. Do these humans not worry about robbers?
I am happy to see Simba but his reaction is much too dog-like for me. I feel overwhelmed & decide I must go. The time is not yet right for me to come home.
On my way out, I see a possum trying to steal my food 😾
Day 8:
I awaken & Lenny is gone. This is good because I am tired & not in the mood for adventures today. I miss Simba, so in his honor, I decide to nap all day. Maybe tomorrow I will pay him a visit. Lenny did demonstrate that it is possible to sneak in & out w/o being noticed.
After we swipe the food, Lenny decides to explore & enters the humans’ home 🙀🤦🏽♀️. He is an adventurer but still.
LENNY THEY CANNOT KNOW THAT I AM STILL ALIVE YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER!!!
He is quick & we thankfully don’t get caught.
That is enough adrenaline for me for one night.
Day 7:
I wake up less grumpy. Even though my hunting expedition was unsuccessful, I still destroyed that raccoon. You could say that yes, I #stillgotit#CatsofTwittter#Caturday
I decide to roam & I run into Lenny 😻! We frolic a bit & then we decide to stalk some prey. We find some field mice & it is an easy kill. Much less ambitious than yesterday, but it saves room for dessert. I decide I am going to take Lenny to the trap area to share some kibble
